Our client is a well established construction company working as a main contractor on high profile construction projects within London. They are looking for an experienced Document Controller to work with and support the design / estimating / project delivery teams from the companies North London office. As a Document Controller, you will be responsible for managing the control of all administrative and technical documents in accordance with Project Specific and Company Procedures onto the Asite system. You will also ensure that all users have access to the latest revision of appropriate documentation in a timely manner.
Key Tasks and Activities :
To assist in the implementation of the document control system (Asite) and management during the projects life cycle:
* Issue invitations to new users, including assigning them to the correct permissions: security groups, updating the folders structures, custom fields and the workflows if required.
* Ensure all technical documents and comments are recorded on Asite, including method statements, product technical specification and site design amendments.
* Monitor and control with guidance from the project managers and design manager via the approval responsibility matrix on Asite to ensure security of confidential material.
* To co-ordinate tender packages with the guidance of design managers and quantity surveyors which set of documents forms part of the relevant package and link the content of each approved design package to a respective location.
* Support the Project and Design managers in their design approval process / commenting as per the Company Procedures, with regards to managing Technical Documents.
Candidate:
* Good all round Document Control knowledge within construction
* Be competent with document control software. Our client uses Asite
* Capacity to work effectively within a team environment.
* Organisational skills (prioritising tasks, respecting deadlines, methodical work)
* Multi-tasking, Problem solving and decision making
* Attention to detail, adaptable and flexible
* Good IT skills (MS Office)
* Ability to work across various projects when required
* Familiar with various web based document management systems
Knowledge of File Validation - Experience of examining documents, drawings, etc
This would suit an experienced document controller with a minimum of 5 years experience. The company is looking for an individual with a steady work history.
