The successful Mechanical Estimator will be responsible for managing tenders from initial enquiry through to final submission, producing accurate and commercially competitive estimates for mechanical building-services packages. The role will cover projects including high-quality office fit-outs, retail and commercial refurbishments. Mechanical packages will typically include HVAC, ventilation, air conditioning, pipe work and plumbing. Key responsibilities: Reviewing drawings, specifications and tender documentation Producing detailed mechanical estimates and cost plans Completing accurate material and labour take-offs Obtaining and analysing supplier and subcontractor quotations Preparing tender submissions and pricing schedules Identifying value-engineering opportunities Attending tender interviews, site visits and client meetings Liaising with project managers, directors and commercial teams Managing multiple tenders and meeting submission deadlines Supporting projects through pre-construction and handover The ideal candidate will have previous experience working as a Mechanical Estimator within the commercial fit-out, refurbishment or mechanical building-services sector.
