Assistant Quantity Surveyor LDN

Core Group are pleased to offer an exciting opportunity to the right candidate. The position of AQS is available within the London area, specifically Southwark for a leading construction company. The successful candidate will have proven experience within a surveying/extimating role, qualified within Quantity Surveying or a similar function, with excellent IT skills and a clean driving licence. Location: Southwark, London Salary: £30k-£35k p.a depending on experience The Role: To work within a Specialist Works Division delivering a range of diverse programmes including Aids and Adaptations, voids, maintenance and disrepair cases. The role will include supporting the management team with the opportunity to make a real difference in this key position. Responsibilities: • Previous maintenance, minor works and project works utilising schedules of rates. (particularly NHF Standard of rates). • Budgeting and estimating from first principles. • Proven ability to minimise cost, and to maximise value and cashflow. • A working knowledge of standard forms of contracts. • Supplier and subcontractor engagement • Cost reporting and final accounting. • Dynamic approach to working under pressure and meeting deadlines and proven experience in supporting contract delivery via IT interface with clients.
