Job Description

Job Title: Senior Estimator Department: Estimating Reports to: Estimating Director Location/Region: North West Salary - Up to £85K About them the company: Amazing Culture and fast growing Main contractor, with over 400 staff in the UK, turning over 450 million working on average project sizes of £25 million. Day to day This role is focused on preparing and winning the larger and more complex tenders for the business, managing robust and long-term relationships with clients and internal teams in line with the general strategy. To work across different workstreams and ensure all decisions are made based on accurate future cost forecasts. Duties & Responsibilities * Lead the resources on a tenders, with a high degree of commercial acumen and skill * To be accountable for and ensure estimates produced are robust * To lead and prepare the complete commercial and pricing element of a tender or cost plan and coordinate external resources * Undertake the production of tender submission documents, take the lead commercially, attend pre-tender and post tender interviews with both internal management and clients and attend internal adjudication and tender progress meetings * Manage the estimate process and resources with a high degree of commercial acumen and skill * Report on progress of the tender via weekly estimating meetings * To identify opportunities to add value throughout the project process, as well as identifying and escalating risks Qualifications/Experience * A degree (or equivalent) in Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, Engineering or extensive experience * Minimum of 5 years relevant industry experience * Awareness of and adherence to company policies and health and safety requirements * Experience gained in complex and geographically dispersed construction or built environment businesses * Excellent IT skills - proficient in Microsoft suite of programmes (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Conquest) * Has strong problem solving and considered decision-making skills * Methodical, analytical and organised with an attention to detail * Excellent communication skills both written and verbal Next Step Please contact David Blears on (phone number removed) or if you'd like to recommend someone that may be interested in hearing more about this role - please feel free to call me initially and I'll follow up myself - referral fees will be paid for successfully introducing someone that lead directly to a placement into a role.
