Job Description

Responsibilities Attend site and review damage caused by a vehicle collision or repairs as a result of a vehicle collision with a domestic or commercial building or structure or part of the built environment. On occasion the attendance will be to review completed works. Book site visits that are assigned to your workload by your direct reporting line. Ensuring there is sufficient access, relevant parties are identified and in attendance for the visit, and access has been considered. While on site identify and escalate damage which poses an immediate risk to the safety of the property owner or public. Provide a written report containing observations on the damage and a schedule for the works required. Include photographs which support the written content and a video with commentary. Source material from suppliers and quotes for works from contractors as needed to complete the schedule required for the site report. Engage new reputable suppliers where existing suppliers do not provide the required service. Proactively engage with contractors to provide their quote in a timely manner. Review third party impact damage files and provide a report containing observations and a schedule with costs to complete the repair without attending the site. Compile RAMS for all works that will be undertaken by the Operatives on the Building Solutions Team. Expectations All contact and significant actions are noted on the corresponding files on the Job / Claims Management System. Data Protection checks are completed on calls made and received with the site including those made by mobile phone and the checks are recorded on the file. All work is completed within the applicable service level. Where required by the demands of the workload support is provided to other members of the Surveying Team to achieve the collective objectives such assisting with compiling another surveyors site report. Requirements * Clean driving licence and must be willing to travel. * Flexible approach to working hours to allow for peaks and troughs within the workload. * Professional presentation on site and over the phone. * Thorough understanding of construction methodologies, legislation and regulations, and rectification techniques. * Computer literate and confident with MS Word, MS Excel and MS Outlook. * Effective verbal and written communicator with good grammar and spelling. * Able to work effectively as part of a team. * Organised and honest. * Experience working as a Building Surveyor, on site as a multi-skilled trade, or qualified to degree level in a related field. * Desirable: experience handling and reviewing damage to buildings caused by the impact insurance peril or working within the home insurance industry. * Desirable: H&S qualification with CITB
