About the opportunity: Due to present and anticipated workload, our client has identified the need to expand their team and therefore are recruiting permanently for a Remediation Engineer to be based from their office in Reading to assist the Directors and Project Managers with technical delivery and verification of remediation projects. This opportunity will incorporate a mix of office and site based working and the successful individual will be involved in remediation projects from cradle to grave – i.e. from tender stage through to submittal of completion. With direction and support, the remediation engineer will be responsible for: * Producing remediation strategies, risk assessments and method statements * Co-ordinating / appointing subcontractors * Obtaining licences, permits and regulatory approvals * Supporting the senior engineer and site managers on technical aspects of remediation projects to ensure remedial objectives are met * Carrying out site work including verification sampling, set up and commissioning of treatment systems * Ensuring site records are kept up to date (daily logs, soil audit, deliveries etc.) * Writing completion / verification reports * Liaising with client representatives or third party verification engineers in addition to regulators * Carry out remedial excavation and verification sampling to demonstrate remedial objectives are met About the requirements: In order to be considered for this opportunity, it is imperative that professionals have at least 1 years post graduate experience whilst working within a contaminated land discipline and ideally a significant portion of this time will have been spent in remediation or on site, carrying out sampling, site investigations, monitoring etc. Additionally, professionals must have a working knowledge of a range of remedial technologies and due to the remit of work, must hold a full valid UK driving license and be willing to travel. About the rewards / benefits: For this permanent opportunity, my client is targeting professionals looking to earn anywhere between £25,000 - £30,000 per annum, however specific remuneration will depend on experience and suitability.
