Job Description
Vivo Recruit are currently looking for 3 x Wood Machinists / Multi-Trades in Thurston, Bury St Edmunds for a ongoing contract which could result in a permanent role.
The role of a wood machinist is to take lengths of timber into the wood mill, set up the saw machine correctly and operate it safely to create these pieces for the 'construction kit'. We appreciate some people may be put off applying for a role as a wood machinist because of a lack of experience, or confidence, so we will give all the training you will need to become a competent wood machinist.
We are looking for people who are:
* eager to learn new skills,
* have an attention to detail,
* adaptable to changing situations,
* reliable and punctual,
In return, our wood machinists can expect to:
* be trained on safe use on all our saw machinery (chop saw, table saw, spindle, planer),
* be trained to use our power tools, such as sanding machines, impact drivers, screwdrivers,
* learn how to make a varied range of components, such as wall studs, roofing trusses, gables, door frames, decking, steps, ramps,
* learn how to read CAD drawings,
* work within a friendly group of wood machinists,
* progress within the business once fully trained,
The position is offered on a temp to permanent basis and work hours are 8am to 5pm, Monday to Friday. There are opportunities for overtime during busy periods. If you would love to be part of a market-leading company, then please get in touch!
