Job Description

Quantity Surveyor – Central London

We are searching for a reliable quantity surveyor to join our capable team of construction professionals.  You will be responsible for helping to estimate costs, quantities, and project timelines for the construction work on a new 5 star hotel in central London.

You should be highly numerate, organised and have a methodical approach to your work.  High interpersonal skills are a must.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Reviewing construction plans and preparing quantity requirements.
  • You will need to analyse existing budgets, make improvements and prepare quantity estimates.
  • Negotiate with various contractors and suppliers as well as building relationships with all site personnel.
  • Scrutinizing maintenance and material costs, as well as contracts to ensure the best deals.
  • Valuing completed work, managing budgets and overseeing payments
  • Submitting regular budget reports
  • Following building regulations and health and safety
  • Liaising with site managers, contractors, and subcontractors.
  • Preparing reports, analyses, contracts, budgets, risk assessment, and other documents.
  • Advising managers and clients on improvements and new strategies.
  • Keeping track of materials and ordering more when required.
  • Documenting any changes in design and updating budgets.
  • Establishing and maintaining professional relationships with external and internal stakeholders.
  • Traveling from the office to various sites as required.

Qualifications and experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in quantity surveying, engineering, management, or similar.
  • Minimum of 6-7 years’ experience working at a Quantity Surveyor
  • Construction estimating or finance experienced is advantageous.
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
  • Sound knowledge of construction.
  • Excellent negotiating and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to organize, plan, and strategize.

Salary

£40K- £50K
