Planning Manager

I am looking to speak to planning managers with a background in house building, working for either a developer, local authority or planning consultancy. An opportunity to join a well respected developer in Exeter has arisen. You will be a key part of the team, who is responsible for identifying land and securing sites. You role will be to take the land through the planning stages. Reporting to the director and managing a planning assistant, working in a small and friendly team who often take part in activities outside of work. You will need to be knowledgeable and well versed in the planning system (ideally chartered town planner but not essential) and accustomed to dealing with local authority’s and planning consultancy’s. Summary of duties: You will oversee the entire planning process, overseeing the drafting of the statements required for the submission of planning applications and delivering immediate or long term planning projects on a variety of scales. Manage and prepare initial planning budgets, and overseeing the collation of information for planning applications and submitting and monitoring their progress. Also to liaise directly with the planning authority and consultants in progressing applications and discharging conditions. You will be required to present applicant statements to planning committee meetings and attend Town and Parish Council meetings where required.
