Apprentice Window Fitter

Description * Follow instruction given by the foreman and work within the team. * General Housekeeping daily will also be required – workplace is to be kept clean at all times * Follow architect elevation plans to ensure the windows are installed into the correct openings and to the approved drawings. * Works will involve fitting the window, sealing the windows to ensure no water can ingress around the frame, the installation of the glass pane into the frame, fitting he window handles, restrictors etc and finally apply protection to windows so they do not get damaged during the construction periods. * Complete required technical and regulatory documents. * Issue Quality Assurance sheets to the client for sign off * Completing snagging on windows during the client snagging period as and when requested. Duties Not specified Essential criteria * Valid CSCS Card. * PPE (Boots Only) all other PPE will be Provided * The ability to carry out physical manual labour. * 3 – 5 years related work experience. If no experience - please inform us, we are open to teaching operatives but this must be communicated so candidate is placed with suitably qualified member of the team. Desirable criteria * The ability to follow written and spoken instructions. * Excellent team working skills. * Comfortable working at height. * Basic numeracy and literacy skills. * Good physical condition. * Familiar with construction industry safety standards and procedures. * Capable of working with minimal oversight but willing to follow directions closely. * Good level of physical fitness. * Practical skills to operate power tools and machinery. * Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and plans.
