Morrison Water Services is currently looking to recruit a Senior Quantity Surveyor to work on our Thames Water Capital Delivery Framework covering the South London Region. Projects requiring immediate Commercial support include: Scope 1: Relining of 2.5km of 30” Main plus open cut elements (Mar 22 to Dec 24), ‘Early Contractor Involvement’ to assist Client to assist Client with design development (Nov 21 to Jan 22) Budget of Scheme £8.5m (in development) Scope 2: New transfer main between Oxleas Wood and Farningham Hill Reservoirs via Bexley WTW (Jun 22 to Late 24), ‘Early Contractor Involvement’ to assist Client with design development (Ongoing to Apr 22) Budget of scheme between £25m and £35m (in development) The Thames Water Utilities Framework is administered on bespoke terms and conditions. We are open to candidates from all backgrounds however IChemE and NEC experience within the Utilities Sectors would be preferred but not essential. As Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will be part of the Commercial Team and will be responsible for managing and mentoring Quantity Surveyors and Assistant Quantity Surveyors in carrying out the administration of the commercial and financial aspects of Works in the Region. The role will involve working closely with the delivery team delivering the programme and individual projects. As the Senior Quantity Surveyor your duties and responsibilities will be: Carrying out the day-to-day administration of the commercial and financial aspects of projects. Close liaison with the Project Management Team(s) Preparing Cost and Value reporting Preparing commercial performance reports Manage procurement including labour, plant, materials and subcontract Demand forecasting VOWD forecasting Change Control Cost control Cash collection Subcontract management and liaison Skills and Knowledge Requirements: Experience in the water and waste industry is preferable Effective communication and excellent negotiation skills Able to react to constant changing workloads Good organisational skills A commercially and contractually astute individual that takes ownership of their own teams’ performance A proactive person with a disposition to take action pre-emptively to manage risk and opportunity A person with an eye for detail who can challenge and help build target costs Results driven, capable of working on own initiative and just as importantly supporting the wider team Able to converse professionally at all levels from subcontractors through to the end client Self-motivated and driven Ability to learn and master client specific software Ability to deal with large amounts of data accurately and efficiently Intermediate to advanced Excel skills Preferably degree qualified in a related area, such as Quantity Surveying What’s in it for you? 25 days' annual leave plus 8 days' bank holiday Annual bonus Pension scheme Life Assurance Company Car and Fuel Card Private Health Care
