Permanent Construction Estimator Management Architect and Design

Job Description

Nelson Permanent Placements are proud to be representing their client, who specialise in Mechanical and Engineering working in a number of areas including Residential, Student Accommodation, Theatres, Supermarkets, Schools, Warehouses etc. Due to recent growth, they are looking for an experienced, committed and dedicated Mechanical Estimator able to manage quoting jobs in Heating & Plumbing from the value of £30k-£2 Million. You’ll develop cost models/plans, submit accurate estimates and manage bids for projects, including large and more complex major schemes ensuring that all client requirements and technical issues are fully considered. You will be expected to interface with both our existing and prospective new clients. This position will involve the day-to-day management of the tender process to ensure standards are maintained and deadlines are met. You’ll prioritise and manage your own workload, maintain accurate records of tenders submitted while interfacing with our Estimating Manager, Procurement team and Operations Team. This will be completed with the objective of delivering supplier coordination to ensure accuracy, best value and competitiveness of estimate and accommodation of the supply chain critical path. Responsibilities: * Provide accurate take offs and maintain a high level of competency when preparing prime cost estimates. * Work independently and as part of a team. * Propose Value Engineering Proposals and provide innovation where applicable. * Competently use Trimble Contract Master for preparing estimates. * Manage client and key stakeholder requests in a professional and timely manner. Package: * £40-£50k Negotiable DOE * Full time * Luxurious Gym * Monday - Friday What do I need? To be successful in this role, you’ll have the ability to prepare Schedule of Rates, "take off" quantities from drawings or bill of quantities and have previous experience within an electrical environment. Finally, you’ll have completed a craft apprenticeship and developed competence to the level of BTEC or equivalent technical training. You’ll also have strong commercial and business awareness to enable you to identify and recommend appropriate bid proposals that meet client needs as well as promote the Company's interests. Therefore, you must be highly motivated and accurate, as attention to detail is vital, as is excellent Maths and IT skills. To be considered for this role, we would love you to have: * Proven track record for securing works within the M&E market place. * Ideally have design and build capability with the ability to evaluate design scope gaps on tenders. * Due to the level of mobility required in this role a full UK driving license is essential.
