Building Control Inspector

A Structural Warranty Provider seeks a Building Control Inspector to provide both a site inspection and desk-based plan checking role in the vicinity of Belfast. The role would focus on compliance with Building Regulations and Structural Warranty criteria throughout the build process. Salary up to £40,000, company car, competitive bonus. Role Focus To identify defects and to manage risk on behalf of insurers from plan to completion, order to eliminate the likelihood of a successful claim over a 10 or 12 year structural warranty period. The role will be evenly split between conducting plan checks at the Belfast head office and performing residential and mixed-use site inspections in the wider vicinity of Belfast to ensure warranty and Building Control compliance. Building Control Inspector Responsibilities Perform site inspections on behalf of the Technical Services team, conducting quality assessments, defect reports, identifying structural faults and making recommendations to clients generated via on-site applications Management of insurer and client expectations Inspect newly constructed and converted properties, working alongside builders and developers to ensure works are in accordance with Warranty standards and Building Regulations as far as possible Forward plan workload in order to provide a responsive and professional service Advise external clients and internal staff on technical queries Provide advice to underwriting team on technical queries.Building Control Inspector Requirements Warranty or Building Control Inspector prior experience Up to date Building Regulations knowledge Strong problem-solving ability Tactful and diplomatic approach Full UK driving licenseQualifications and experience in line with the following: HNC and 10 years' experience HND and 5 years' experience NVQ level 6 and 3 years' experienceBenefits Starting salary of up to £40,000 Annual bonus - Up to 15% Company car Fuel card Private healthcare PensionMonday - Friday, 37.5 hrs For further information please contact (phone number removed) / .
