Assistant Quantity Surveyor

A growing construction business is looking for an Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join its team building a solid reputation within its specialist sectors of Healthcare, Education, Leisure and Law Enforcement. Along with a salary of £27,000 - £32,000 per annum, you will also receive 20 days holiday rising to 25 days after 5 years, a pension scheme, fuel and travel expenses, excellent progression opportunities, opportunities to be involved with CSR activities and a healthy living subsidy in the form of a taxable annual payment of £400 towards the cost of a sports club or gym.

As an Assistant Quantity Surveyor, your responsibilities will include:

- Preparing cost analysis’ for public sector refurbishment projects.
- Reviewing tender documents; preparing take offs from drawings/schedules of work.
- Liaising closely with supply chain to obtain costs for sub-contracted packages.
- Supporting the commercial team to ensure all requirements are met within the tender.
- Liaising closely with clients, assisting in the identification of new projects where appropriate.

We are looking for an Assistant Quantity Surveyor who has the following skills and experiences:

- Previous experience working in construction, preferably working with Estimators with an understanding of how estimating works.
- Experience of the commercial tender process.
- Good overall IT skills, especially Excel.
