My client, a local authority based in Greater Manchester is looking for a Food Safety Officer to join their team. This is a full time, temporary ongoing agency contract and the successful candidate must be fully registered with the EHRB, have qualifications in Food Safety and extensive experience carrying out food hygiene and premises inspections. The main purpose of the role is to cover a typical food & health and safety workload to assist our permanent members of staff who are now working on contact tracing and COVID secure regulations in businesses. The main responsibilities of the role will include the following; The vacancies requires candidates that have suitable experience to undertake food safety/food standards inspections, re-visits, re-scores, identify and undertake enforcement action and respond to customer service requests. You will be expected to complete inspection reports, establish and allocate food hygiene ratings and prepare schedules of works for food business operators. You will also be expected to investigate complaints relating to poor food hygiene practices and advise business on improvements and update customers. It is essential that you have significant experience and competency in food hygiene work and are able to work to a high standard with minimal supervision. You will be expected to fully comply with council procedures and FSA Code of Practice and Practice Guidance requirements. Inspection and audit of Food Businesses to assess against Food Hygiene and Food Standards legal requirements including issuing published food hygiene ratings to business. Using the full range of official controls and taking enforcement action including prosecutions against non compliant premises Investigation of food poisoning and infectious disease outbreaks, understanding complex food supply chains, sampling and understanding technical results, determining appropriate enforcement action and contributing to coroner investigations The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate the following competencies/attributes; Fully Registration with EHRB Qualification in Environmental Health/Food Safety Significant Experience with Food Hygiene inspections The client is looking to move quickly with appointing to this position and as such, are offering £35 p/hr Umbrella Ltd (approx. £820 NET p/week after deductions) for the duration of the role.
