Job Description

Engineer with own survey equipment and transport, to set out for Groundworks and infrastructure schemes. Contractor has 4-5 live sites from Ealing to Folkestone and wants an Engineer to take a roving role to provide all surveying duties. Starts August. Working directly on self-employed basis @ £300 per day negotiable. The Role. Engineer or Land Surveyor with own survey equipment and transport. To set up initial site controls and to then visit sites as required to provide ongoing setting out information. This will involve liaising with the Site Foremen to organise your visits. You will carry out all Engineering functions as the scheme progresses. Projects include Schools, Commercial units, and Residential schemes. Involves Ground clearance and excavation, Piling and Ground beams, RC substructure, Drainage and reinstatement, civils infrastructure and hard landscaping. Working for a contractor who has secured 3-4 new projects. Scope of your works include: Initial site survey and establishment of controls Weekly visits and provision of temporary offsets for the Foremen to use Setting out for all operations Recording areas and volumes of works carried out Providing records of activities to the Contracts Manager Monitoring reinstatement Setting out for drainage and roads Provision of final as-builtsRequirements: Own calibrated EDM Own laptop with AutoCAD installed SSSTS or SMSTS would be helpful Good written and oral communication skills 3-5 years' experience working for Groundworks contractors as an EngineerRate: £300 plus negotiable on UTR basis Working hours (Apply online only) Monday to Friday
