Job Description

HSEQ & Training Manager Role purpose: Provide management, assistance, direction, drive, and development of all facets in the management of the Health & Safety, Environmental, Training and Quality controls. Person specifications: Essential Experience in a Health and Safety role in the General Construction industry Experience with ISO 9001/ 14001 / 45001 & OHSAS 19001 NVQ L5 in Occupational Health and Safety or NEBOSH National Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety (certificate would be considered if working towards a diploma and had 5+ years of construction and civil engineering experience) IOSH membership at GradIOSH level. (Or as stated above working towards GradIOSH with experience) Experience with Environmental Health and Safety management. Valid UK Driving licence Training requirements for the Construction and Civil Engineering department. Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills. A track record in developing and executing successful Health and Safety policies and systems. Good organisation and time management skills. High integrity and openness Desirable * Experience in a health and safety role in the Utilities or Civil Engineering industry * IOSH certificate in Managing Health and Wellbeing * NEBOSH National Certificate in Fire Safety and Risk Management * NEBOSH National Certificate in Environmental Management. Roles and Responsibilities: * Provide support and advice to the Senior Leadership Team on HSEQ and Training for their relevant department needs. * Develop and maintain effective working relationships with department managers, supervisors, employees, contractors/sub-contractors and external resource. * Attend meetings both site-based and off-site. * Manage the company HSEQ programme. Including control for our IMS; we currently hold ISO 90001, 14001 & 18001. * Oversee the Health and Safety audits in the company. * Oversee the training matrix and training for the business. * Oversee and manage the Health and Safety compliance with relevant legislation, client standards and contractual arrangements. * Produce reports and analysis of the HSEQ performance of the business * Responsible for all safety inspections in the workplace. * Managing emergency procedures (such as fire alarm drills) and organising emergency teams such as fire marshals and first aiders * Drive philosophy of safety ownership throughout all levels of the organisation. * Responsible for developing, promoting and monitoring the company's HSEQ culture. * Oversee the accident and incident HSEQ reports and investigations. * Responsible for maintaining site safety folders, paperwork and databases relating to HSEQ. * Have a commercial awareness when it comes to the budget constraints of the organisation. * Proactive monitoring of site operatives' competency accreditation. * Oversee the updating of Navision and in-house systems of training records * Manage the induction process and requirements for the company and ensure its fit for purpose at all times. * Ensure the training matrix is always updated and fit for purpose. * Attend all HSEQ Complete Utilities and client required meetings, with information and data prepared. * Manage all client KPI's * Achieve and maintain focus on reduction of utility strikes * Achieve and maintain LTI targets. * Oversee the development of an in-house training and development program. * Implement a HSEQ improvement plan and maintain actions when completed
