Job Description
Client:
A privately owned contractor with a healthy forward order book are seeking a Senior Electrical Project Manager to lead a science & health project in the city of London. Since their inception the business has grown to become a leading building services contractor delivering schemes throughout the UK. Over the years they have formed close relationships with a number of professional consultants and principal contractors, consequently they benefit from a substantial amount of repeat business. Working within a buoyant sector the business can guarantee security and the opportunity to work on technically challenging projects.
Project:
A new build science and health project in central London. The construction consists of a shell core mechanical and electrical installation, as well as the fit out, including specialist services. The duration of the project is expected to be 2 years.
Role:
Senior Electrical Project Manager - Reporting to a visiting Projects Director; the successful candidate will be responsible for leading the project from Preconstruction to handover.
Renumeration:
£75,000 plus package or £375.00 Per Day (depending on experience)
Responsibilities:
* Take control and lead the project from the front.
* Management of preconstruction stages, including design and programming. (liaising with consultants, main contractors, client and subcontractors.
* Procurement of kit, plant and subcontractors (better buying/value engineering) (Technical Submittals, RFIs).
* Management of project/installation, overseeing subcontractors etc.
* Ensuring the project runs to programme, using MS Project or Asta Software
* Responsibility to ensure project is delivered to the highest standard, on budget, within time, safely and to the satisfaction of the client.
* Site Coordination managing Engineers and Supervisors
* Management of Health & Safety
* Coordination of testing and Commissioning stages
The candidate must have:
* Experience leading electrical packages to a minimum of £7M
* Must show longevity in previous employment working for an MEP subcontractor.
* 7 years’ experience in the London market.
* Must have experience working on science, health, R&D or pharmaceutical projects.
* Must have at least HNC in Electrical Engineering / Building Services.
* Be within commuting distance of Central London.
