Junior Mechanical Estimator – Kent – Salary up to £30,000 + Package Our client are an independent family run contractor who specialise in mechanical and electrical installations. Working within the commercial office and high end residential sectors they boast a extensive list of clients. With a turnover of circa £10M and a history spanning 30 years they benefit from a large amount of repeat business. They have seen no slow down during the lockdown period, and due to a influx of tenders are now looking to strengthen their estimating department. They are seeking a Junior Estimator to work with one of the Directors; assisting with compiling tender documents as well as other tasks across the Head Office function. Duties / Responsibilities: * Assisting with sending out of enquiries and gaining quotations from the supply chain at tender stage * Assisting with compiling cost estimates and material pricing / costs using excel * Interpretation of drawings / schedules and take off’s * Assist with the bid paperwork and filing of information in preparation to be submitted * Communication with clients and customers alike in the tender process * All round assistance in the head office in associated tasks The ideal candidate will: * Have basic knowledge of building services engineering, possibly working previously as a Junior Engineer, Quantity Surveyor or Estimator would be ideal. * A HNC/D in Building service Engineering would be advantageous but not essential.
