Job Description
About this Role:
A major civil engineering contractor are looking for a Site Engineer to work on a mixture of highway improvement and new road construction projects. Ideally you will have a minimum of 12 months experience and be competent with AutoCAD and setting out using a total station.
Typically projects will consist of junction improvements, drainage upgrades and new traffic layouts for local authorities as well as Section 278 & 38 works, spine roads and infrastructure for private sector clients. On each project you'll have the support from a Site Manager and General Foreman to ensure work is completed to programme and specification with their large directly employed workforce.
Duties include:
*Setting out roads, earthworks and drainage with surveying equipment
*Manage all engineering activity providing direction to the direct workforce and subcontractors
*Quality control to ensure the standards are met in accordance to the design specifications
*Ensuring the highest health, safety and environmental standards are met on site adhering to the client's and business's requirement
*Liaise with the site team to approve materials ensuring they meet specification
*Keep accurate records of progress reports, site diaries and resource allocations
*Produce as-built drawings in AutoCAD

About the Company/Client/Project:
A major civil engineering contractor with a strong presence within rail and infrastructure self-delivering one-off projects up to £70 million. They are currently turning over circa £250 million across the South of England for Highways England, Network Rail, private sector clients and local authorities - they have also secured work on the Routes to Market framework. They have a strong presence in the South West and will offer future regional work.
