Due to recent contract awards, one of Northern Ireland's most successful family owned building and civil engineering contractors are seeking a Health & Safety Manager to join their specialist team on projects based across Northern Ireland. Operating within the commercial, education, industrial, leisure, residential & hospitality sectors, the firm undertake projects ranging from the construction of bespoke homes, to major hotel projects, with recent successes having earned them multiple prestigious awards in the industry. The company prides itself on continuous repeat local business and now require a Health & Safety Manager to manage all aspects of H&S on multiple sites across NI.
Your new role
As a Health & Safety Manager, you will be responsible for managing health & safety on a range of medium sized construction projects from commercial refurbishments & fit outs to new build education & healthcare schemes valued up to £5-6million.
You will create and complete Risk Assessments & Method statements alongside conducting site audits on a regular basis. You will lead and deliver health & safety initiatives to help raise awareness of risks and hazards. Your time throughout the week will be split between head office in Belfast and various sites across NI.
What you'll need to succeed
You will have previous experience working in a similar role within a construction environment. You'll demonstrate a working knowledge of SHEQ standards & audit procedures with a sound understanding of implementing integrated ISOs (14001, 45001 & 9001) throughout a live project. Ideally you will be professionally qualified to NEBOSH level or hold a relevant BSc Degree. As the role is at a managerial level, you will be comfortable & confident leading & overseeing all Health and Safety within the company.
