Contracts Manager MH68987H £50-60k plus package West Yorkshire My Regional Design and Build Contractor client is currently looking for an experienced contracts manager to join its Humberside office. The role of the Contracts Manager is to plan, execute and finalise projects according to the company procedures, strict deadlines and within budget. This includes acquiring resources and coordinating the efforts of team members and third party contractors and consultants in order to deliver projects according to the pre-determined programme of work. The Contracts Manager will also define the project's objectives and oversee quality control and specification throughout its manufacturing lifecycle. Key Responsibilities: Project Management * Direct and manage project development from beginning to end including but not limited to: * Manage Client Liaison and follow their processes * Meet 3rd Party Accreditation ie. FIRAS, CHAS etc * Ensure all safety matters meet with the company policy * Oversee the installation passive fire protection materials and ensure that strict specification and quality control is met * Understand and define project scope, goals and deliverables that support business goals. * Effectively communicate project expectations to team members and stakeholders in a timely and clear fashion. * Liaison with clients on an on-going basis. * Estimate the resources and participants needed to achieve project goals * Draft and submit budget proposals and recommend subsequent budget changes where necessary. * Determine and assess need for additional staff and/or consultants and make the appropriate recruitments if necessary during the project cycle. * Set and continually manage project expectations with team members and sub-contractors. * Delegate tasks and responsibilities to appropriate personnel. * Identify and resolve issues and conflicts within the project team. * Identify and manage project dependencies and critical path. * Plan and schedule project timelines and milestones using appropriate tools. * Track project milestones and deliverables, analyse results and trouble shoot problem areas. * Develop and deliver progress reports, proposals, requirements documentation and presentations. * Proactively manage changes in project scope, identify potential crises and devise contingency plans. * Define project success criteria and disseminate them to involved parties throughout the project life cycle. * Coach, mentor and motive team members and contractors and influence them to take positive action and accountability for their assigned work, * Build develop and grow any business relationships vital to the success of the project. * Conduct project post mortems and create a recommendation report in order to identify successful and unsuccessful project elements. * Develop best practices and tools for project execution and management Surveying * Ensure that valuations and final accounts are submitted on time * Ensure that all Variations and extras are charged to the client * Produce monthly cost analyses for the Managing Director and Accountant * Read and ensure that all contract particulars are to the companies advantage Estimator * Prepare and submit estimates, ensuring that the estimates are broken down into Labour / Plant/ Materials / Subcontractors and Preliminaries * Offer the client alternatives and suggestions on alternative products and way of doing things Buyer * Carry out the buying function of the company to ensure best value for money. * Introduce new produce that will be beneficial to the company and help increase businessOther duties Competencies/Skills/Knowledge: * Customer focus * Communication * Financial Focused * Decision Making * Technical Skills Previous Experience:5 years in the construction industry, covering a wide range of projects from repair and maintains to new build, values from £250k to £10,000,000.
