Job Description
JOB PURPOSE:
To provide high quality technical enquiry and cost-effective design proposal support via telephone and email for customers using Schueco UK Ltd products.
KEY TASKS
• To respond to technical enquiries concerning standard system applications, and to assess applications for oversize windows and doors, from fabricators and Schueco UK employees within specific timescales.
• To assist customers with enquiries relating to associated Schueco UK products (commonly known as ‘Building Physics).
• To undertake preliminary static and thermal calculations in accordance with Schueco UK methods and design principles.
• To act as lead and offer specialist guidance in customer meetings in a technical capacity.
• To review customers’ general arrangement drawings with respect to standard Schueco systems principles and recommendations.
• To produce drawings and bespoke designs, to meet customers’ requirements on an ad hoc basis.
REPORTS TO Technical Manager
Essential Skills
• Proven industry experience, including a practical understanding of the Building Physics relating to the workings of window, door and curtain-walling systems.
• Proven customer service skills, including experience of dealing with customers via telephone, email and face-to-face and the ability to take ownership for the duration.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Excellent team work skills.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
• Highly proficient in CAD; specifically AutoCAD.
• Practical knowledge and experience of working with Revit and BIM.
Additional/Desirable Skills
• Knowledge about Schueco’s products.
• Engineering qualification
