Our established multidisciplinary consultancy client now requires an experienced Clerk of Works to join their High Wycombe based site inspection team. The role will be working remotely and visiting new build residential sites across Buckinghamshire, Berkshire and SW London. Offering a salary of Circa £50k + Mileage.
The consultancy offers a multitude of services to include project management, surveying, cost consultancy, and design management, and specialise in residential and affordable housing projects for developers, RPs, and Local Authorities. Role & Responsibilities
- Site visits throughout the duration of the project
- Check that all elements of construction are in accordance with the relevant regulations, Codes of Practice, British Standards and the Contract Documents; with specific attention given to fire safety
- Check all works, materials, and products are in accordance with the Contract Specification and drawings
- Issue memo of any defective works to employers agent
- Monitor the Contractor's Programme and report any delays or failures to the Client

- Participate in benchmark snagging exercises

Job Purpose

We are looking for a Quality Technical Inspector with proven experience to work in our award winning consultancy. You will be someone who thrives working in a team and under your own motivation to produce excellent quality work for our clients.

We are looking for a Quality Technical Inspector with proven experience to work in our award winning consultancy. You will be someone who thrives working in a team and under your own motivation to produce excellent quality work for our clients.
Responsibilities:
You will need to demonstrate experience in both new-build and refurbishment, having a detailed knowledge of various forms of construction and ability in undertaking inspections of building works in progress for quality and compliance and prepare specific reports under the direction of a team leader. You will be liaising closely with Building Contractors, reading drawings and researching technical data.
Project Examples:
The projects span all sectors including, Health, Education, Residential, Commercial, Institutional, Security/Policing etc. DBS and other security clearances are required to undertake many roles passing these is essential and any existing clearances should be stated at application stage.
Currently the projects are located across greater London and the Home Counties so travelling is an essential part of the role. There may also be a requirement to visit manufacturer’s factories/yards to review quality further afield so a full driving licence is required.

This is a full time, Temporary position and the successful candidate will hold relevant qualifications of HNC/HND and have relevant experience as a Clerk of Works and ideally extensive experience in a similar local authority role.
The purpose of this role is to co ordinate the work of site supervisory staff, to ensure that roadworks and/or bridgeworks contracts are carried out in accordance with the Specification.
The role comprises of;

Supporting the development and delivery of new build homes for social rent across Cheshire West and Chester.

Ensure the successful handover of completed housing units and that the interests of Cheshire West and Chester are protected at every stage of the project.
