Due to this increase in contracts wins they require a lead Senior Quantity Surveyor to work on new build High Rise Residential projects. The contractor is well established and has a strong reputation for delivering high quality PRS, Student accommodation and high rise residential developments. The successful Candidate will have proven New Build/Construction experience working for a main contractor on project values ranging from £30 million to £50 million, with any High rise Residential projects worked on in the past being of strong advantage. You will have experience working as a Senior QS on a large scheme. The ideal individual will be qualified to a minimum on HNC level in Quantity Surveying. Duties will include: • Monthly Valuations • Preparing Bills of Quantities • Carrying out Take Offs • Monitor material and labour costs • Advise on commercial and contractual issues as instructed • Communicate with project staff and sub-contractors regularly to ensure all commercial procedures in place Individual Requirements: • Qualified to minimum of HNC In Quantity Surveying • Degree qualified in relevant area desirable. • Previous experience working for a main contractor ideally on high rise residential schemes. The successful candidate will be proactive and work to their own initiative, leading the Surveying team on this prestigious project. Linear are currently looking for a Senior Planner for a temporary ongoing position. Job purpose * Responsible for the contract programmes for design and construct projects, from initial compilation at tender to update and progress during construction to Completion. * Review contract documents, specifications, scope and test schedules. * Develop initial tender and contract programmes, sequence of work and construction methodologies. * Plan project work and identify resource requirements (labour, plant, materials and S/Cs). * Produce or advise on short term working programmes for construction teams. * Monitor progress and productivity and report to team. * Identify and assess programme risks and produce mitigation plans with project team. * Produce monthly progress reports for client and internal issue. * Identify alternative methodologies / sequences to improve project completion date. * Liaise with designers, subcontractors, clients and third parties e.g. licensing authorities. * Produce records, progress reports and project related documents and communicate with all levels of staff regarding progress and project issues. * Directly supervises Assistant Planner/Planner.
