Duties:

* Manage the design budget, setting targets for the team, monitoring, controlling and taking remedial action
* Managing change control and understanding the totality of change of the project as a whole. Manage the production of estimates for the change and the agreement of additional fees with the client and the impact on the budget
* Manage compliance with the CDM regulations, particularly design risk assessments and competency.
* Identify the need for specialist designers, arrange fee quotes and manage their appointment to the project
* Support the construction delivery team in holding progress meetings with specialist contractors and the client
You will have an understanding of the construction process from civils and groundworks, through superstructure and fit out of complex high finished highly serviced buildings, both new build and refurbishment, also have a thorough understanding of the CDM regulations and a good understanding off the Health and Safety regulation, statute and codes of practice to support the construction team in implementing and agreeing safe systems of work. This role will be office based in Hertfordshire but will require travel to visit project, which could be any UK location therefore the candidate must be open to travel.

About the opportunity:
Due to company expansion, my client is recruiting permanently for an Assistant Quantity Surveyor (ideally 2 years post graduate experience), to join their strong commercial team. The purpose of this role is to support the Senior Quantity Surveyors in the successful commercial and financial management of enabling work projects and tenders.
Key Duties:
* Prompt presentation for all applications for payment and Final Accounts, including all contractual entitlements.
* Ensuring that all payments are received accordance with the contract terms.
* Preparation and presentation of monthly Cost Value Reconciliations (CVR) and final cost/value forecasts.
* Forward work schedules and cash flows.
* Procurement, negotiation and placing of sub-contract orders.
* Financial and commercial management of sub-contracts through settlement if Final Accounts.
* Ensuring all contractual letters/notices are presented in accordance with the contract requirements.
* Preparation of appropriate documentation in support of additional payments, variations, entitlements etc.

About the opportunity:
Due to continued company growth, my client is recruiting permanently for a Senior Estimator who holds proven experience of putting together tenders, project costings and valuations for technical demolition and earthworks schemes valued in excess of £1M.
General duties and responsibilities will include by not be limited to:
* Preparation of tender submissions
* Measuring and take-offs from drawings
* Producing bills-of-quantities
* Cost Planning
* Pre and post Contract meetings with clients

About the Opportunity
A rare opportunity available here, for an experienced / competent Facades Designer, looking to progress in to Design Management.
I’ve been approached by one of my clients as expansion as at the forefront of their business plans and due to successful tendering, within the residential market they’re recruiting for experienced facade design professionals
You will be primarily office based in the St Albans area, however hybrid working is a possibility for the individual. Within this role you’ll be surrounded by professionals who work closely as a team to deliver designs on time and within budget for a variety of clients such as Berkeley Group, Barratts and Bellway Homes. You’ll be responsible for all design aspects of the project lifecycle overseeing, drawings, structural calculations, engineering and coordination between client and architects.
Works are traditionally full envelope packages consisting of cladding systems, curtain wall, windows, doors, and architectural metalwork which typically range from £1m to £10m in value.
As mentioned above, my client is open to Senior Level Designers seeking career progression. Sound like you?

Requirements
To be successful all applicants must have worked for a rival Façade subcontractor in the UK. You must have the appropriate qualifications and a minimum of 5 years design experience. In addition to this, the business will only consider applicants that have facade experience including Cladding, Curtain walling and Rain Screens. You must be able to demonstrate the ability to work to programmes and deadline, be flexible to adapt to change and have a keen eye for quality.
Salary/ Benefits
Salary will be agreed with each individual on a case by case basis depending on previous experience. As a rough guideline I will be targeting individuals whose annual salary is within £60K to £70K. All reasonable travel expenses will be included and you will receive a company works package.
