Workshop Assistant Salary range £22,500 to £25,000 JOB SUMMARY My client is a busy prop hire company supplying furniture and props to the film and television industry. An exciting opportunity has arisen for a assistant to join us in our busy workshop, repairing and maintaining our vast and varied stock of antique furniture and smalls. Working to a high standard and within strict deadlines. You would also be required to work in conjunction with our Loss & Damage Co Ordinator to calculate repair costings which would be passed on to our clients. Deputy Workshop Manager Salary range £30,000 - £35,000 Our client is a busy company supplying furniture and props to the film and television industry. We are looking for a Deputy Workshop Manager to join our team in Southall, Middlesex. Your role would be to assist the Workshop Manager in leading and managing our friendly in-house workshop team, along with maintaining and repairing our vast stock of antique furniture and accessories. Additionally, due to industry demand, we anticipate expanding this department to incorporate model making, along with the Workshop Manager you would play a key role in this expansion. The successful applicant will have at least two years of experience in set and scenic construction or similar industry and have knowledge of a broad range of construction techniques and materials, as well as excellent woodworking skills. You would also need to work in conjunction with the Loss & Damage Coordinator to calculate repair costings which will be passed on to our clients. Key duties & responsibilities • To help manage a team repairing a broad and varied collection of furniture and accessories. Using artistic vision and ability to realize creative ideas. • To assist the Workshop Manager in supervising the work of all workshop staff including casual and service providers to ensure best working practices in terms of safety and quality. • To personally comply and assist the Workshop Manager to ensure all workshop staff and contractors comply with Health & Safety requirements. • Have the ability to work on your own initiative, prioritize and meet deadlines. • Share responsibility for the day-to-day safety and cleanliness of the workshop. • Assist in obtaining costings and quotations for all workshop materials. Including keeping accurate records. I am looking for Carpenter to fit some hand rails to a bespoke Staircase. Must have 2nd fix carpentry experience.Experience with Mited cuts and hidden fixings. The actual Job is in Central London but you will need to attend the Workshop for three days before the job starts, this is in Farnham. So ideally you will have your own transport. My client is a well-established Joinery manufacturing & fit out company located in the Stevenage, Hertfordshire area.They specialise in the manufacture and fit out of specialist Joinery projects. The candidate will be responsible for managing all projects from production through to dispatch helping to maximise the company’s capabilities. He/she will work closely with the CNC Operator to ensure the machines are being utilised to their full capacity. They will supervise the operation of the beam saw, edge bander and sander, working closely with the management team to ensure the highest performance of all machines and helping to guide and develop the company towards further growth and success. Essential Criteria * Previous experience in the relevant field. (Joinery OR Furniture) * Manage all joinery shop production activities on a daily basis. * Liaise with project managers to ascertain weekly requirements/changes. * Attend weekly production meeting with projects director and all management staff to provide an update of all jobs/delivery schedules etc. * Carry out fortnightly Tool Box Talks to health and safety matters in the workplace. * Ensure time sheets are accurately completed, collected weekly and signed off. * Quality management, ensuring manufactured items are produced within the specification and to an expected quality level including finishing works (spray-shop) * Direct communication / meetings with clients to resolve specific queries and details.
