Summary of Position:
The Joinery CAD draughtsman will perform a variety of design/drafting activities, including creating production drawings for projects, preparing assembly/manufacturing drawings as well as component drawings and installation drawings. The Joinery CAD draughtsman must demonstrate a strong attention to detail and an innovative mindset, as well as strong communication skills. The role will involve working closely with the internal and external stakeholder of the Projects team.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Translating customer specification into detailed productions drawings (AutoCAD)
Work closely with the contract engineers such as architects, contractors and interior designers
Developing design briefs
Set out detailed technical production drawings (AutoCAD)
Site surveys
Consults with: Design Manager; Design Coordinator; Project Manager, Architects / Interior Designer
Reports to the Design Manager
Desired Skills and Expertise:
Joinery background in bespoke cabinet making
A sound knowledge of engineering design principles
Excellent skills in AutoCAD (2D, 3D)
A sound knowledge of material properties
A thorough understanding of manufacturing processes and construction methods
The ability to meet deadlines
Proficient with Microsoft Word and Excel
A creative flair
The ability to work in small team settings
