You and your colleagues will be the single point of contact for the Network Hub in and out of hours to ensure incidents are responded to in a timely manner. This is a 4-on 4-off 12hr day/night shift system including weekends and bank holidays.
What you'll be doing:
As Highways Maintenance Operative (Duty Bronze Attend & Assess) you will carry out daily checks of labour plant and materials to ensure efficient utilisation. Respond to incidents and emergency works when directed to do so by Highways England, within the KPI timescales. Key Responsibilities

Use CONFIRM, Deploy and manage the resources required to support Highways England in the timely clearance of incidents. Maintain and manage the information flow and ensure regular contact with all stakeholders during incidents. Disseminate all Winter Maintenance decisions received by the ROC during the winter service period.

The Hub Operator will be working in the Network Hub based at Coldharbour Depot. This role provides a single point of contact for Kier Highways supporting the Area 3 & 4 team's response to incident management, Safety observations, stakeholder liaison and general enquiries. Please note this in on a 4 on 4 off shift pattern that includes nights, days, weekends, and Bank Holidays.
Key Responsibilities
The Hub Operator acts as first point of contact for Kier in relation to incidents, emergency repairs and severe weather on the network, ensuring that the appropriate course of action is taken for each issue reported. Use CONFIRM, Deploy and manage the resources required to support Highways England in the timely clearance of incidents. Maintain and manage the information flow and ensure regular contact with all stakeholders during incidents. Produce and maintain accurate records for all incidents that occur on the network and record all relevant information into the relevant database(s). Disseminate all Winter Maintenance decisions received by the ROC during the winter service period.
What do we need from you?
Ability to effectively perform within a team, sometimes within high pressure environments. Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a professional and clear telephone manner. Computer literate adept with Microsoft programmes and other applications. Flexible working approach (comfortable working both day-time and night-time shifts).

In this role you will carry out Highway Maintenance duties as instructed this will include being part of the winter maintenance and Emergency's Callout.
