Principal OHL Design Engineer We are seeking a Principal Overhead Line (OHL) Design Engineer to join a growing consultancy that delivers projects across the UK transmission and distribution sector. The company specialises in the design of overhead lines, underground cables and wider energy infrastructure, supporting key national projects that contribute to Net Zero. The Role You will be responsible for delivering high-quality OHL design solutions, covering: Line profiling and routing Load, strength and foundation design Conductor selection and optimisation Coordination with CAD teams and checking deliverables Developing design processes and tools to improve efficiency Managing projects, clients and stakeholders Coaching and mentoring junior engineers Key Responsibilities Deliver OHL design studies to scope, budget and programme in line with industry standards Use PLS-CADD and related design software (Tower, Pole) as well as CAD tools Manage drawings, schedules and design documentation Act as technical lead with clients and stakeholders Ensure compliance with CDM and safety standards Skills & Experience Degree in Civil Engineering Chartered (MICE, MIET, MIMechE) 5+ years experience in OHL design (transmission or distribution) Strong knowledge of OHL standards and specifications (BS, ENA) Proficient in PLS-CADD / Tower / Pole software Excellent communication, stakeholder and problem-solving skills

Role Overview: We are seeking a proactive, site-based HSE Coordinator to oversee health, safety, and environmental management across construction projects in the UK. This role involves ensuring compliance with regulations, supporting site teams, and promoting a positive safety culture on site. Key Responsibilities: Coordinate and support site health, safety, and environmental activities Conduct risk assessments, site inspections, and implement safety procedures Provide guidance on safe systems of work, emergency procedures, and control measures Deliver health and safety training including inductions and toolbox talks Undertake and support audits, incident investigations, and report RIDDOR events where applicable Maintain accurate records of incidents, inspections, and CDM documentation Support fire drills and monitor environmental and ecological protection measures Collaborate with internal teams and external bodies to drive continuous improvement and compliance Required Skills and Qualifications: NVQ Level 3 in Occupational Health and Safety NEBOSH General Certificate Minimum of 3 years experience in construction projects, ideally PV ground mount systems, steel structures, or civils Green CSCS Card or equivalent for site access Knowledge of HSE regulations including CDM, COSHH, PUWER, and LOLER Experience with construction safety management systems and electrical safety considerations IOSH Managing Health and Safety in Construction is advantageous Proficient in Microsoft Office and IT reporting systems Willingness to travel throughout the UK across multiple sites Benefits: Full-time employment contract Competitive salary Car allowance Medical insurance Pension scheme with company matching Professional and supportive working environment
