Location: Sudbury, Suffolk Rate: 549/day Umbrella Contract: Until April 2027 Working pattern: Hybrid, ideally 3 days per week on site/in the office Hours: 45 hours per week My T1 Contractor client is looking for an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join a major infrastructure project in Sudbury. The role will support commercial delivery across packages of work related to an 11km of underground cable, with particular responsibility for HDD, trenching, ducting and associated civils works. Key Responsibilities Commercial management of assigned infrastructure packages Administering NEC contracts Preparing and managing applications for payment Managing CVRs and cost reporting Supporting compensation events, valuations and commercial change Working closely with delivery, engineering and wider commercial teams Managing subcontractor accounts and ensuring accurate commercial records Supporting junior members of the commercial team where required Requirements Ideally 5+ years' Quantity Surveying experience Strong construction or major infrastructure background Good working knowledge of NEC contracts and contract administration Experience with civils, utilities, power, cables or similar infrastructure advantageous FastDraft experience desirable RICS qualification desirable but not essential Able to work effectively within a large project and commercial team Able to commit to approximately 3 days per week in Sudbury This is a long-term contract opportunity for an experienced QS who can hit the ground running and take commercial ownership of major infrastructure packages. Site Supervisor (Nights) - Highways Drainage Location: M65 corridor, East Lancashire Contract: 3-5 months Start: Monday 26 October Shift pattern: Night shifts Rate: 400- 425 per shift, CIS/Umbrella Client: Tier 1 Highways Contractor We are looking for two experienced Site Supervisors to support a Tier 1 Highways Contractor delivering drainage works on the M65 corridor. You will oversee night-shift delivery of highways drainage activities, ensuring gangs and subcontractors work safely, productively and in line with programme, quality and client requirements. Responsibilities Supervise direct labour, drainage gangs and subcontractors on night shifts. Coordinate daily works, labour, plant, materials and traffic-management interfaces. Ensure works are completed safely and in line with approved RAMS, permits and quality standards. Carry out site briefings, toolbox talks, checks and progress reporting. Monitor drainage installation, excavation, reinstatement and associated highways works. Liaise with the Site Agent, engineers, client team and supply chain to resolve issues quickly. Maintain accurate site records, including diaries, inspections, quality paperwork and completed works. Requirements Previous Site Supervisor, General Foreman or Works Supervisor experience on highways projects. Strong drainage experience, ideally including motorway or live-carriageway work. Comfortable supervising night-shift operations and coordinating multiple gangs. Valid CSCS and SSSTS or SMSTS essential. NRSWA, NHSS, First Aid and relevant highways tickets would be advantageous. The role Manage commercial delivery of civil engineering and infrastructure work packages. Prepare CVRs, forecasts, cost reports, applications for payment and cash flow. Administer NEC contracts, including early warnings, compensation events, notices and change control. Manage subcontract procurement, valuations, variations, payments and final accounts. Provide commercial support to operational and project-delivery teams. Identify commercial risk, opportunity and cost-recovery actions.
