ASSISTANT ESTIMATOR - REFURBISHMENT & COMMERCIAL FIT-OUT Location: Basildon, Essex Salary: Up to £50,000 per annum Sector: Refurbishment, Commercial Fit-Out and Internal Finishes A growing refurbishment and commercial fit-out contractor is looking for an Assistant Estimator to join its commercial team in Basildon. This is an excellent opportunity for an Assistant Estimator, Assistant Quantity Surveyor or construction professional with relevant pricing and commercial experience who wants to develop a long-term career in estimating. The company delivers commercial refurbishment, maintenance and fit-out projects across London and the Southeast. Projects are typically valued up to £500,000 and include work across commercial, education and public-sector environments. THE ROLE Working alongside experienced members of the commercial team, you will assist with the preparation of estimates and tender submissions for refurbishment and fit-out projects. Your responsibilities will include: - Reviewing drawings, specifications and tender information - Completing measurements and take-offs - Assisting with the pricing of labour, materials and subcontract packages - Sending enquiries to subcontractors and suppliers - Comparing and analysing quotations - Helping to prepare tender submissions and cost breakdowns - Attending site visits when required - Maintaining accurate tender and pricing information - Supporting the handover of successful projects to the operational team REQUIREMENTS The successful candidate should have some estimating experience within refurbishment, fit-out or specialist subcontracting.
