Your new company You will be working for a Government agency who look after Scotland's national forests and land, totalling 650,000 hectares. Due to a project being signed off, they are looking for multiple operatives to work as part of their 30-person team on site for a 6-month contract in the Elgin area. Your new role You will be undertaking the following duties on site: Manual handling of trees, moving the trees into a state-of-the-art greenhouse to ensure survival over the winter months. Working outdoors in challenging all weather conditions Working on pest & disease monitoring, irrigation and spraying operations as directed by the supervisors. Comfortable working as part of a team and individually as the role dictates. Sorting and packing trees inside the workshop as directed by the team leaders. What you'll need to succeed You will need to be physically fit and ideally used to working outdoors, either in a similar environment or from another industry. Key Responsibilities Manage day-to-day site operations for modular construction and installation projects. Coordinate modular unit deliveries, lifting operations, installation and assembly activities. Supervise subcontractors, specialist contractors and site operatives. Ensure works are completed in accordance with drawings, specifications and programme requirements. Plan and coordinate site logistics, access, deliveries, storage and lifting activities. Monitor progress against the construction programme and report issues or delays promptly. Conduct site inductions, briefings and regular coordination meetings. Maintain high standards of health, safety, environmental compliance and site security. Ensure RAMS, permits and other site documentation are in place and followed. Carry out quality inspections and ensure defects are identified and rectified. Liaise with the client, consultants, project management team and supply chain. Maintain accurate site records, daily reports, progress updates and handover documentation. Support commissioning, snagging, completion and final handover. Identify potential risks and implement appropriate mitigation measures. Ensure all personnel comply with project-specific security and access requirements. Essential Requirements Proven experience as a Site Manager within construction, modular construction, off-site manufacturing or a related environment. Strong understanding of construction site management and health and safety requirements. Experience managing subcontractors and multiple site activities simultaneously. Ability to interpret construction drawings, specifications and programmes. Excellent communication, organisational and problem-solving skills. Relevant site management qualifications, such as SMSTS . CSCS or equivalent appropriate site-management card. First Aid qualification. Willingness and eligibility to undergo BPSS clearance . Full understanding of site safety procedures and UK construction regulations. Desirable Experience delivering modular, volumetric or off-site construction projects. Experience working on government, public-sector, infrastructure or secure sites. Temporary Works Coordinator or Temporary Works Supervisor experience. Relevant construction or engineering qualification. Experience with project reporting and construction management software. We are currently working with our client, a leading civil engineering and infrastructure contractor, who is looking to appoint an experienced Senior General Foreman to join an 11m bridge replacement project near Seaford, East Sussex . The project is already underway and is scheduled to run through to early 2028 , offering an excellent opportunity to join a major heavy civil engineering scheme and play a key role in its successful delivery. The works involve the construction of a new bridge over the River Cuckmere, together with a broad range of complex civil engineering activities, including bored piling, sheet piling, retaining walls, earthworks, highway works, scour protection and temporary works . The Role As Senior General Foreman, you will take a leading role in the day-to-day delivery of the works, coordinating site teams, subcontractors, plant and materials to ensure the project is delivered safely, efficiently and in line with programme requirements.
