This is an excellent opportunity to play a key role in the delivery of a technically challenging water industry scheme, involving reinforced concrete structures, deep excavations, cofferdams, large-diameter pipework and live operational infrastructure. Mentoring and supporting Site Engineers, Graduate Engineers and junior members of the engineering team. Senior Engineer Requirements Minimum 3 years' experience at Site Engineer level or above. Previous experience working on water/wastewater treatment works or major water infrastructure projects is highly desirable. Strong experience with reinforced concrete structures, particularly water-retaining structures. Experience delivering thick in-situ reinforced concrete base slabs, walls and precast roof plank installations is desirable. Experience working within sheet-piled cofferdams and deep excavations, including temporary works, dewatering and ground support systems. Valid CSCS Card (essential). Site Agent/Manager The Role The Site Agent will be responsible for managing the construction site to achieve the required project delivery in line with customers' objectives, while maintaining standards of health and safety, quality, environmental impact, and cost control. You will be responsible for delivering various projects to the specified quality, within the required programme, and with maximum commercial performance. The successful candidate will work closely with the Contracts Manager/Project Manager, engineers, and quantity surveyors to ensure that projects are completed in a safe manner whilst customer requirements and expectations are always maintained or exceeded. Key Responsibilities Site Management Overall responsibility for the successful delivery of various projects in the Civils and Water sectors Deliver the work to the specified quality without defects When required, lead a team of Sub Agents, Engineers, and Foremen to deliver the work safely without environmental incidents, and to the specified quality. Ensure production and implementation of Project Plans, RAMS, and ITP as well as Waste Management Plans, when specified, in line with Company procedures Ensure the commercial performance of the contract is maximised Produce and manage the project construction programme as well as produce a 2-week look-ahead. My client is a leading contractor in the Steel frame and Groundworks sector. We are currently recruiting a Senior Engineer to complete an 9 month contract. Qualifications Senior Engineer with experience on large industrial, logistics or commercial construction projects. Strong knowledge of groundworks, drainage, reinforced concrete, steel frame and external works. Experience managing QA procedures and ITPs. Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications. Degree, HNC or HND in Civil Engineering (or equivalent). Valid CSCS Card. Proficient with Leica or Trimble surveying equipment. Responsibilities Lead all on-site engineering activities, including setting out and technical support. Review and coordinate drawings, specifications and design information. Oversee quality assurance procedures, Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs) and temporary works. Produce and maintain accurate site records, including as-built drawings and technical documentation. Ensure works are delivered in accordance with project specifications and programme requirements. Monitor quality standards across all engineering activities. Support the Site and Project Management team with technical expertise. Promote and maintain the highest standards of health, safety and environmental compliance. Coordinate subcontractors and resolve technical issues on site.
