Tekla Detailer / Tekla Draughtsperson / Tekla Structures Detailer Salary: £45,000 £60,000 + Paid Overtime Hours: Monday Friday, 8:00am 4:30pm Location: Office-based. Ideally suited to someone who can drive to the office, although there are good public transport links from London. We are looking for an experienced Tekla Detailer / Tekla Draughtsperson to join our team, producing detailed Tekla Structures models, General Arrangement (GA) drawings and fabrication drawings for a range of structural steelwork and architectural metalwork projects. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Steel Detailer or Tekla Structures Detailer to work on a diverse portfolio of projects within a well-established and growing business. Key Responsibilities Produce accurate 3D Tekla Structures models from architectural and structural engineering drawings. Prepare GA drawings, fabrication drawings, material reports and project documentation. Interpret engineering calculations, specifications and project requirements. Ensure all drawings comply with British Standards and fabrication requirements. Work closely with architects, structural engineers, project managers and fabrication teams to resolve technical detailing queries. Support projects from design through to fabrication and installation. Requirements 5+ years' experience as a Tekla Detailer, Tekla Draughtsperson, Steel Detailer or similar (flexibility for the right candidate). Strong knowledge of Tekla Structures, structural steel detailing and fabrication drawings. Experience detailing structural steelwork and architectural metalwork. AutoCAD and Microsoft Excel experience. Previous UK experience working to British Standards. Excellent attention to detail and a good understanding of steel fabrication processes. BTEC or HNC as a minimum is required for this vacancy. You will be detailing and draughting work for interesting and varied schemes up to 10M. Your focus will be the drawing of LSF, light gauge steel and pre panelised steel framing structures. Such projects may include student accomodation, hotels, medium rise apartments up to 10 storeys, healthcare centres, schools and colleges etc to name a few. Some projects will also give you the opportunity to work on their USA and Canadian clients schemes. This role is key in producing precise technical drawings, collaborating with design, engineering, and fabrication teams, and ensuring seamless delivery of high-quality, cost-effective solutions. Key Responsibilities Produce accurate 2D and 3D / Tekla technical drawings for structural steel and architectural metalwork Prepare fabrication-level drawings with clear dimensions, annotations, weld symbols, and material specifications. Translate design intent into detailed, workable drawings. Liaise with project managers, fabrication, and site teams to ensure clarity and accuracy of detail throughout the project lifecycle. Prepare bills of materials (BOMs) and material take-offs. Review drawings for buildability, CNC compatibility, and clarity for installation teams. Update and revise drawings as project specifications evolve, ensuring version control.
