What you will be doing Lead and work alongside a small installation team on projects across the UK. Set out work and check levels, depths, bases, edges and drainage before installation begins, using a digger or dumper where required. Mix, pour, screed and hand-trowel SBR and EPDM wetpour systems. Take responsibility for joins, wearing courses, coloured sections, patterns and marked-out areas. Keep projects organised, safe, on programme and finished to a high standard. Support and develop other team members and communicate professionally on site. What we are looking for Proven hands-on wetpour or rubber safety-surfacing installation experience. Strong screeding, trowelling, levelling and finishing ability. Experience leading a small team and taking responsibility for quality and site delivery. A full UK driving licence, current CSCS card and relevant current digger and dumper tickets, together with practical experience operating the equipment. Willingness to travel countrywide and stay away when projects require it. Experience that would be useful Groundworks, drainage, base preparation, civils or landscaping experience, including confident use of diggers and dumpers. MUGA, playground, sports surfacing, resin-bound or artificial-grass experience. What is on offer Company van and fuel card. 20 days annual leave plus bank holidays. Starting on 31st August and running through until Christmas, you will work closely with the Site Agent to drive day-to-day site activities, manage site operatives, and ensure works are executed safely and efficiently on the ground. Key Responsibilities Supervision: Direct and coordinate on-site labour, trades, and plant operators to maintain high productivity and keep the program on track. Hands-on Coordination: Oversee daily civil works including earthworks, drainage installation, foundations, and external surfacing. Health & Safety Compliance: Ensure all site teams strictly adhere to RAMS (Risk Assessments and Method Statements), site rules, and PPE requirements. Lead daily briefings and toolbox talks. Surfacing Supervisor / Foreman - Highways Location: Luton Contract: Planned Term Maintenance Duration: Initial 6-week contract, with potential for long-term work Start Date: 14th September Rate: £550 per night Weekend Work: Available with an uplift The Role We are currently looking for an experienced Surfacing Supervisor / Foreman to join our team working on planned term maintenance schemes across Luton. The role will primarily involve night-time working, supervising highways surfacing operations and ensuring works are delivered safely, efficiently and to the required standards. The initial contract will run for 6 weeks, starting on 14th September, with the opportunity for long-term work available for the right candidate if both parties are happy with the arrangement. Key Responsibilities Supervise and coordinate highways surfacing gangs on site. Ensure works are completed safely, efficiently and to the required specification. Manage operatives, plant and materials on site. Liaise with site management, clients and other contractors where required. Ensure all works comply with health & safety requirements and site procedures. Monitor quality and progress of surfacing works. Assist with resolving any issues that arise during the shift.
