Remediation Team Leader - £30,000 The Opportunity Our client is one of the UK's leading provider of remedial environmental solutions. They are one of the UK’s leading providers of intelligent environmental and property incident response, remediation and restoration services for insurance, commercial and public sector clients. They are looking for Remediation Team Leaders to join their operation based in Surrey. The Role The Remediation Team Leader is required to lead a site team to undertake building works, groundworks and remediation in relation primarily to oil spill incidents at domestic properties. This includes reinstatement internally and externally to original condition. To supervise team members on site to deliver projects in a timely manner. Skills / Experience CSCS Card Carrying out such works under the direction of the Contracts Manager and/or Operations Manager Running projects according to previously agreed schedules and budgets Utilising own initiative, skills and knowledge where appropriate Driving machinery and undertaking hand dig excavation works to facilitate contamination removal Coordinating ordering of materials and skips to site to keep to a schedule of works Assisting with collecting photographs throughout all stages of works Carrying out works in accordance with health and safety regulations to include relevant RAMS documentation Following structural engineer’s drawings/plans to carry out propping works safely, namely brickwork and blockwork Supervising Remediation Operatives on site, ensuring their health and safety is maintained Enhancing skills such as OFTEC works to assist with spill response where necessary according to the needs of the business Be willing to work away if necessary

this is a permanent vacancy* My client are a leading developer delivering major projects throughout the UK. They operate in the new build student accomodation, highrise residential apartments and new build housing sectors. They are a multi-million pound turnover group and a leader in their sectors of the construction industry. Starting on site in November, they have a prestigious new build scheme in Edinburgh; a £30m new build, 2 x blocks of concrete frame construction consisting of circa 250 student bed studios above a ground floor collection of retail and leisure units. The project will include a significant brickwork facade package to its external shell. This project will be live until completion and handover in 2022. The scheme is being overseeing by a strong team of long-standing operational and commercial staff including a Senior Project Manager, Site Managers and Engineer alongside technical and commercial teams. They now require an experienced Project Manager or Senior Site Manager to bring this project out of the ground as number 1 on site. As such you will be experienced in working on prestigious, city centre schemes of minimum £20m, with an strong track reckod of maintaining excellent quality and H&S standards. You will have a minimum of 5 years experience operating at such level and on such schemes. The following tasks are not in priority order: Overall responsibility for construction, through to the completion of the building, to the agreed programme. Ensuring key pre-construction items are closed out to allow a successful on-site start. Formulating and agreeing main contract programmes. To set the agenda for the construction process and the design/ information co-ordination to achieve that process. Single point of contact for client. Liaise with all departments regarding information needed to progress and complete the project successfully. Formulate and present progress reporting structure both internally and to the client. Ensure site team manage the project adhering to the Health and Safety, Security and Fire policies at all times. Attend pre-start meetings with on-site operatives and sub-contractors. Managing the subcontractors appointed on the project and ensuring they each deliver on time and within budget. Liaise with client, architect, structural engineers, Building Control, NHBC and other organisations as required. Ensure site team set up and work to main site filing system. Produce monthly management / client reports on the contract status for the directors / client. Assist with contractual correspondence and distribution of information. Formulate and present progress reporting structure both internally and to the client. Encourage and develop communication methods employed by staff and nurture positive supportive approach to developing staff. To discuss, support and advise team members on a regular individual and team basis and where necessary liaise with Human Resources for additional support. Conduct, chair and minute weekly team meetings with subcontractors and management and distribute to senior management. Monitoring plant usage on site. Produce site reports. Complete project on time or ahead of time and within budget. Arrange and ensure meetings with quantity surveyors regularly throughout contract. Liaise with quantity surveyor and sub-contractors to discuss possible damages and time loss immediately as they arise. Discuss site issues and progress with construction director. Oversee preparation and issuing of Operating and Maintenance manuals. Attend post hand over review meetings. Liaise with customer care department in relation to defects, to be able to successfully obtain making good certificate at the end of the defect liability period. My client, a well-established main contractor, has an immediate requirement for a site Manager for a large scale residential ‘lived in’ refurbishment project and ongoing works. The successful candidate must have proven experience of working in large site teams, to include: managing assistant Site Managers, direct labour operatives and Sub-contractors. In addition, experience of managing on large scale refurbishment works within social housing is essential. Experience of managing the following on large scale projects is essential: Scaffold, windows/doors, EWI & Render, painting, Enabling works, Structural concrete repair, brickwork repair. The successful candidate must be locally based and meet the below essential criteria. Overall Purpose of the role: • Ensure the delivery of multi million pound refurbishment projects on time and on budget, whilst to the clients’ satisfaction. • Build sound relationships with Residents, ensuring they are satisfied and kept informed. • Ensure the co-ordination of operatives, sub-contractors and suppliers in a planned, controlled manner whilst ensuring efficiency of the works and minimizing costs. • Management of project timescales and planning; communicating changes to all relevant parties • To prepare and keep an up-to-date project plan • To identify and gain approval for variation orders when deviating from the agreed project specification. • Monitoring of project budgets, including sub-contractor and material invoices, and the application of variation orders. • Responsibility for the application and monitoring of all Health and Safety practices associated to the project-including induction and site safety. • To attend regular update meeting with client, Senior Management and Project Coordinators, providing clear and concise documentation and progress plans. • Ensure projects are delivered on time, to budget and achieve high levels of customer service. • Ensure the timely delivery of management information and project reporting. • To build sound working relationships with clients and Sub-contractors for future works. Essential criteria: • Must have good IT skills with working knowledge if MS Office Suite Inc. Excel, and Microsoft Project • Able to maintain quality and push programme in a fast moving environment. • Must have CSCS, SMSTS, Firs aid qualifications at minimum • A clear communicator who is personable and able to maintain good relationships with residents, the client and all other parties. • Experience of working as a main contractor Site Manager or equivalent on large ‘lived in’ residential refurbishment projects • Working knowledge of the building and maintenance industry • Knowledge of Health and Safety practices • Excellent team working, communication and organizational skills • Confidence and ability to engage with the Senior Management Team.
