Mechanical Mates required for 2 months initially on site in Coventry (CV2 5DB), prefab assembly work environment. Must have previous mechanical experience, preferably working alongside plumber and pipefitters. It's assembly work on flanged stainless from 150mm to 600mm and flanged steel from 65mm to 500mm. Must be capable of reading/working from drawings. Weekly hours are 43 Monday to Friday, must be able to start at 6am each morning. Hourly contract rate is 22.00 on either CIS or Umbrella basis. Astute's Power Team are currently recruiting for a Site Supervisor to join the Mechanical Sub-Contractor on a new build Waste to Energy facility based in the Midlands on an initial 3 months basis outside of IR35 (strong potential to be extended past the 3 months). The Site Supervisor position comes with a day rate from 350.00 to 400.00 outside of IR35. Role responsibilities and key skills for the role: Supervise and coordinate daily site activities across the steelwork and piping installation packages, ensuring works are delivered safely, efficiently and to programme. Lead and oversee teams of welders, pipefitters and mechanical operatives, allocating work, monitoring productivity and maintaining high quality standards. Ensure all mechanical installation activities are carried out in accordance with engineering drawings, project specifications and applicable industry standards. Coordinate closely with the Project Director, client representatives and other contractors to manage interfaces, resolve technical issues and maintain programme milestones. Conduct daily toolbox talks, safety briefings and site inspections, promoting a strong health, safety and quality culture across the workforce. Monitor progress against the construction schedule, identify potential delays and implement corrective actions to keep works on track. Support permit-to-work, RAMS, lifting operations and isolation procedures, ensuring full compliance with site and company HSE requirements. Carry out quality inspections, manage punch lists and oversee the completion of mechanical works through to testing, commissioning and final handover. Maintain accurate site records, including daily reports, labour returns, progress updates and material requirements. Previous experience supervising mechanical installation teams on conventional power stations, OCGT, CCGT, Energy from Waste or heavy industrial construction projects is highly desirable.
