Key Responsibilities Operate a CPCS-approved telescopic handler safely and efficiently. Transport structural steel sections, connection materials, and construction equipment around the site. Load and unload deliveries from lorries and delivery vehicles. Supply steel erectors with materials and equipment in designated work areas. Assist with logistics to ensure work fronts remain fully supplied. Move pallets, stillages, tools, and other construction materials as required. Carry out pre-start inspections and daily defect checks on the telehandler. Report defects, breakdowns, or damage immediately. Refuel and maintain the cleanliness of the machine. Work in accordance with lift plans and site traffic management arrangements. Follow the instructions of banksmen, slinger/signallers, and supervisors during lifting and movement operations. Duties: You will complete steels projects for ground mounted steel frameworks, rooftop steel frames, solar canopy infrastructure, plinths, stairs, ducting etc & smaller projects on highways, rail, bridges plus pylons. This key role is based in the field based site installation team, so you will be working in close connection with the steel workshop team, delivering survey information & problem solving from site to ensure the steels & associated parts are made correctly to the site specifications / clients needs. You wont be welding on site, this is all completed by others in the clients workshop, however knowledge of fabrication would be essential in order to spot defects etc. You will commute to the Leicestershire yard daily to unload/load vehicles & to pick up work orders for the next installation project.
