Underpinning your experience will, ideally, be a COTC qualification in Treatment and an IOSH Managing Safely qualification. A NEBOSH general certificate would be even better, but isn't essential, as any required training will be provided. More important is an eye for detail, efficiency and the drive to complete every task to the highest standard. You'll combine this with commercial acumen, Microsoft Word and Excel skills, and a friendly, approachable manner. Senior Quantity Surveyor Ware, Hertfordshire £50,000 to £65,000 + package A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join a leading main contractor delivering a specialist recycling facility in Hertfordshire. The Senior Quantity Surveyor will initially be working remotely on the pre construction phase of the project, working on cost plans and value engineering before moving to site early in 2023. This means you'll have an opportunity to put your own mark on the project from the very beginning. As the Senior Quantity Surveyor, your key duties will include: Minimising the project costs and enhancing value for money, whilst ensuring the required quality and standards are maintained Supporting junior surveyors on the project and assisting with their development Working closely with the Commercial Management team, supporting them where required Overseeing the commercial management of a large subcontract package from procurement through to account close Contract negotiation The Senior Quantity Surveyor will need to have a background in UK main contracting, strong contract knowledge and site based experience within commercial, mixed use, leisure or education projects. Multi-skilled Site Operative An opportunity has become available for a multi-skilled site operative to join the team at Hendon. As a multi-skilled operative you will be responsible for dealing directly with clients to enable waste to enter the site, you will also be responsible for the accurate documentation of the site users using the computerised Weighbridge recording system. What will you be doing? * Efficient, accurate and courteous operation of Weighbridge and associated weighing duties as laid down in general instructions and/or as directed by management. * To identify potential hazards relating to all aspects of the operation, including customers, reporting any discrepancies to the Line Manager. * To operate mobile plant as required safely contain and transfer material from the storage bays, including pushing up, and loading hoppers and lorries. * To carry out daily routine maintenance checks to all plant utilised in carrying out duties as per manufacturers’ and company guidelines, reporting any defects immediately. * To carry out waste inspection checks as per company policy or as directed, reporting any non-conforming wastes or dealing with same as required. * To monitor all traffic movements around the weighbridge and site generally thereby ensuring all site/Company procedures/ regulations are adhered to, reporting contraventions of such procedures/regulations to the Supervisor. * To deal with all non-conforming waste and waste deliveries, including those not carrying the required documentation, in accordance with legislative requirements /Company policy, redirecting such deliveries as appropriate. Working Foreman A fantastic opportunity has become available at LondonEnergy for a Working Foreman. The Working Foreman will be responsible for a providing a point of contact for Contractors working in and around the EcoPark as part of the LEL capital projects, whilst assisting with NLHPP projects. What will you be doing? * To maintain accurate, up to date records of all works undertaken on site. Informing the Capital Projects Manager daily. * To report all accidents, incidents or good behaviours at the earliest opportunity using the appropriate systems. * To work with Contractors on site by attending daily briefings with the Contractors team on site and cascading information as required. * Working with Contractors to ensure that they are always following the LEL Site Rules and operating safely * Acting as a communications resource between LEL and the Contractor before, during and after works on site. * Preparing notifications to LEL Departments and staff notifying works planned, duration and any anticipated disruption and mitigation being planned. * Work to assist the capital projects in delivering its required outcomes whilst preventing unexpected disruption to LEL operations. * Provide information by communicating effectively to LEL departments of plans by Contractors * Where LEL employs Contractors directly to provide services for projects, the postholder acts as the liaison between the Contractor and LEL. This includes ensuring that: * appropriate Competent Persons are trained to take out permits; * contractors have provided RAMS; * appropriate insurances and other relevant paperwork are in place; * ensuring that all Contractor staff have successfully undertaken an LEL Induction; * Supervising the works whilst the Contractor is on site and reporting progress to the Head of D&P.
