Sub-Agent Major Heavy Civil Engineering Project Bridgwater Area The Opportunity We are seeking an experienced Freelance Sub-Agent to join a major heavy civil engineering project based near Bridgwater. The initial phase is due to run until October 2026, with strong potential to move onto further sections of the project beyond this stage. The Role As Sub-Agent , you ll take responsibility for managing sections of the works, ensuring safe, efficient, and high-quality delivery in line with programme requirements. Key responsibilities include: Leading and coordinating site teams and engineers Overseeing daily site operations and progress Ensuring quality assurance and compliance with specifications Managing health & safety across your section Planning and short-term programming of works Liaising with subcontractors and stakeholders Contributing to site meetings and reporting progress Supporting commercial and cost control activities where required All necessary equipment will be provided by the client. About You We re looking for experienced Sub-Agents or Senior Engineers ready to step up, with a strong heavy civils background. Suitable experience may include: Major highways or infrastructure schemes Reinforced concrete structures (bridges, viaducts, etc.) Water or wastewater treatment projects Flood alleviation or river works Large-scale earthworks You ll also bring: Based within one hour of Bridgwater Degree or equivalent in Civil Engineering Proven experience delivering heavy civil engineering schemes Strong leadership, communication, and organisational skills Ability to commute to the Bridgwater area Full UK driving licence Right to live and work in the UK Rate & Package £360 £380 per day plus holiday pay, depending on experience Long-term contract on a major infrastructure project All site equipment provided Strong opportunity for further project continuity Why This Role? Senior Engineer Galldris Group Location: Sizewell C, Leiston, Suffolk An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Engineer to join our Sizewell C team in Suffolk. To be considered, you will come from a Construction or Civil Engineering background and have been in the role of a Senior Engineer within a Civil Engineering Highways environment a priority. Reporting to the Site Agent/PM, the Senior Engineer will be responsible for managing the engineering on a project, ensuring works are constructed to the contract drawings, specifications, procedures, and plans, whilst managing site and trainee engineers. Key Accountabilities to include but not limited to: Experience/Knowledge: Previous experience as Senior Engineer (or similar) for civil engineering contractor Experience in general civils within a highway s environment inclusive of Site Clearance, Drainage & Service Ducts, Earthworks, Pavements, Kerbs & Footways and Street Lighting Good knowledge of CDM regulations and temporary works Strong knowledge of specifications and testing regime relevant to general civil engineering / specification for highway works Commercially aware and experience of working in a cost-conscious environment Skills: Good communication, people, and team management skills Ability to speak up on HSEQ matters and lead by example Use of Fieldview / Dalux (or similar) web and mobile BIM software Proficiency in design software, such as AutoCad / Autodesk / Sketchup (desirable) Qualifications: Degree/HNC in Civil Engineering, or equivalent Member of Institute of Civil Engineers or working towards (desirable) IOSH Managing Safely or SMSTS Valid CSCS card You hold a Full UK driving licence Health, Safety & Environment: Writing/Checking RAMS and TBS, communicating to workforce and monitoring compliance Contribute to the achievement of Galldris Safety Targets and zero tolerance of unsafe working practices To establish and implement site systems and controls consistent with Galldris company standards and project requirements including health, safety and quality systems and project engineering standards Check Permits issued by the Principal Contractor and ensure they are received in a timely manner for works to proceed Programme & Progress: Review the short-term lookahead programmes and reporting feedback on site Feedback and report issues on site which may delay programme or progress Assist with preventing, identifying, and rectifying issues on site which may impact the programme Design & Design Assurance Permanent Design Familiarising yourself with the design drawings, specifications and setting out requirements and ensure accurate construction in accordance with requirements Temporary Works Design In liaison with TWC, identify temporary works requirements, produce design briefs, and understand and communicate temporary works designs to site team and monitor installation to ensure compliance MARs Raising Material Approval Records and procuring materials in line with programme TQs Highlight issues and raise queries from review of drawings and specifications and from site inspections, and raise with relevant party, drawing sketches where required Quality Management ITPs Writing/checking ITPs, communicating to workforce and checking the process is being followed QA Records Keeping organised and accurate QA records in accordance with ITPs and project requirements NCRs & Defects Lead on documenting, tracking, closing out, and sharing lessons learnt to avoid reoccurrence Quality Handover Documentation Collating information in accordance with ITPs and handover requirements Quality Readiness Reviews lead on readiness reviews whilst capturing lessons learnt / improvements Interested applicants must be eligible to work legally in the UK.
