To lead and manage the commercial team working within your allocated portfolio of multidisciplinary light rail projects, from inception through to final account and close out, to deliver maximum commercial results. Including but not limited to · Working with the Commercial Manager you will lead, manage, develop and train the commercial teams across your portfolio of projects · Raise commercial awareness and embed commercial focus and best practice across each project team · Lead on all contractual matters from inception to close out via in depth understanding of the contract and its implications for profit delivery. · Assisting in the preparation of contract documents, including bills of quantities, specifications, drawings · Manage the Risk & Opportunities process to allow for the identification of Risk and Opportunities during the tender and construction phases and ensure the Commercial function delivers contractual solutions and strategies that balance these risk and opportunities. · Set and manage budgets ensuring all costs are correctly allocated into the relevant WBS · Establishment of robust project life cycle cost forecasts updated monthly and monitored against agreed targets · Proactively drive the recording of all contractual entitlements, ensure timely notification of events and accurate pricing and substantiation of change meet contractual imperatives. · Establish and maintain rigorous cost controls including early warning systems and provide robust accurate financial data and management reports on each project through the monthly reporting cycle including cost value reconciliation and earned value management. · Provide procurement support to ensure each project is delivered safely, timely, at the least cost and to optimal quality. · Ensure all procurement expenditure has been validated by the operational delivery team and identified under the budget as necessary to deliver the project · Deliver contractually agreed cash flow and ensure all applications for payment are submitted / assessed in line with the contractual timescales. · Ensure all valid Supply Chain applications for payment are assessed and certified in a timely manner and payments are made in line with the relevant supplier agreement. · Negotiate and agree contractual disputes and final accounts within DFA levels · Management and mentoring of junior commercial staff. · Undertake any other reasonable duties as requested

Carrying out drawing take-offs and producing labour only rates in liaison with the Senior Surveyor, Commercial Manager and Construction Department, including maintaining the databases and distributing information Updating/producing SWMP plan and Carriers Matrix, including updating Licence Numbers and expiry dates and issue to site as necessary Ensuring sub-contractor weekly and monthly applications for payment are analysed, checked and interim payments are prepared for approval in line with Authorisation Levels and Commercial Procedures, including keeping payment record sheets up to date, highlighting any claims for additional works outside of the budget estimate summary and settling all final accounts expediently after works are complete. Issuing variation instructions and contra charges as appropriate. They have amassed an enviable portfolio of projects across a wide range of sectors, including: Healthcare, Residential, Education & Student Accommodation. Due to continued robust growth, they are now looking to recruit a Construction Site Manager upon an interim basis to join their leadership team in the Hull area, taking responsibility for a school development in the West Midlands area. Reporting to the Contract Manager you will take responsibility for the organisation of resources and direction of employees and sub-contractors on site, from the commercial teams procurement, to achieve successful project completion, whilst complying with the terms of the contract, Health Safety policy and procedures, to ensure the project is completed to the desired quality, specification, programme and within budget. The project is due to commence on the 20th July, with a completion date forecast early September. The ideal applicant will reside close to the Hull area, but be flexible to UK travel, spending time on-site in the West Midlands area.
