Senior Project Manager / Project Director RC Frame & Groundwork Packages - London £90,000 - £120,000 + Benefits (PAYE or Self-Employed) About the Employer: This business is one of my top clients. Having worked with them for the past 10+ years, I have seen them develop in both size and capability over this time. They now currently turnover above £120 million per annum, building concrete frame and groundwork packages ranging in value up to £50 million each for a variety of residential and commercial contractors and developers throughout London and the surrounding Home Counties. They have a very modern edge to the business while maintaining traditional roots. On a personal note, I believe this company is one of the best because of the environment they create for their people and because of the personalities of the superb senior management/directorship team. They go that extra mile to not only retain their staff but to truly keep them happy to be with the business. Small things have been added to the office, like a gym that people have access to all day. They have a treatment room where massages and cosmetic treatments are available to everyone on Fridays, free of charge. And they now even have a rooftop garden and BBQ area. I d want to work here myself if I had the relevant experience! They really are a great company to work for to gain great project experience, to develop capability in modern construction techniques and to be part of the values they believe in. About the Opportunity: With projects secured, this business is looking to recruit a Senior Project Manager / Project Director for projects in London. All projects include RC frames, groundwork, and basement works, and your first project will be a £20m+ package. Whether you are working on a £10m package or a £50m+ package, the expectation remains the same; as the lead on your project, you will be expected to oversee everything from programme to budget. Client relationships should be developed, and it will be your responsibility to organise, plan and execute the works involved in multi-million-pound groundwork and RC frame packages. About the Requirements: Suitable candidates need to be degree qualified in civil engineering or construction management and must be able to show a strong history from a site engineer level through to project management over the last 5-10+ years. It is crucial that candidates can show a strong amount of concrete frame construction, having worked for rival concrete frame and groundwork subcontractors in the UK. Candidates from solely a main contract or development background cannot be considered. Regarding software, our client uses the usual Microsoft programmes, standard email functions and Asta Power Project for planning/programming works. Project Managers will be required to use all these tools. I need Senior Project Managers who have stable backgrounds, have delivered medium to large RC frames and are looking to work for one of the best. About the Requirements / Responsibilities: You will be critical in supporting the Preconstruction & Delivery teams in producing, overseeing and monitoring the contract and construction programmes. You will have competence in Asta Power Project (or similar planning software) and a well-developed ability to communicate technical issues clearly. You will have the ability to read, absorb and visualise information from drawings and text and convert this into a robust vision for construction. You will be a communicator who can motivate ancillary staff who produce 3D/4D models and cartoon sketches, so that our proposals are set before the client using visual aids as well as text. Constructive communication with Estimators is also important. Experience of a busy and fast moving Concrete Frame and Groundwork Specialists tendering office and the necessary ability to cope under pressure. Broad engineering knowledge knowing when something looks right. You will support the PM in briefings to proactively focus design (temporary and permanent), procurement, labour, plant and staff in order to secure programmed dates and milestones. Numerate and articulate. To fulfil this role, we would ideally hope for the candidate to have spent a proportion of his / her career on building sites as an engineer, project manager or similar, in the specialist field of reinforced concrete frame construction and groundworks, but this is not essential if strong planning experience can be shown in this field. About the Rewards / Benefits : If successful, you will receive a strong basic salary estimated at £70,000 to £90,000 per annum (based on level of experience) with a package to match. This is negotiable and is available on a self-employed or PAYE basis. About Me, Your Consultant: My name is Andrew Jackson and I am one of the founding directors of Cityscape Recruitment Ltd. I have over 20 years of experience in civil engineering & construction recruitment, during which time, I have specialised in the niche sectors of concrete frames, groundworks, basement construction, and demolition. So, what does that mean for you? It means you won t be trusting your career to a rookie. I work with the vast majority of the groundwork & concrete frame businesses in the UK, and I can help not only introduce you but can give you up-to-date information on each of them, helping you make an informed decision so you can take your career forward. I ve been doing this for a fair while now, and I ve maintained a positive reputation because I tell people the truth. My job is to get you the options you want, give you the information you need, and then to let you decide what feels right for you. How to Apply: I am more than happy to discuss these opportunities with you over the phone or face-to-face in a fully confidential manner (you can get to know me while I get to know you). And I know this is an incestuous sector, and I fully understand the importance of keeping things discrete. It would be ideal to see a copy of your CV to understand your previous experience and employment. In line with GDPR laws, nothing will be done with your CV/details until we have discussed the role in detail anyway, but having gained an understanding of your formal past, this may help when we come to discuss options. Senior Project Manager
£30m RC frame & groundwork package in Watford, Hertfordshire
£80,000 - £100,000 per annum / £350 - £450 per day (PAYE or Self Employed)
About the Opportunity:
We have been asked to find a specialist Project Manager / Senior Project Manager that is capable of delivering a £30m RC Frame & Groundwork package in Watford, Hertfordshire.
Individuals will need to have a strong understanding of everything from piling, groundworks, foundations, basement construction and multi storey concrete frame construction (including slip-form ideally), while working on a mixture of residential and mixed-use projects in London. I do need to stipulate; I can only consider individuals who have worked for RC frame & groundwork subcontractors. I cannot consider those from a main contract or developer background.
Usual duties will apply from overall management of the site team, technical and engineering management of the programme and works, through to management of the client and surrounding aspects (i.e. health & safety, temporary works and client meetings).
About the Company:
Established over 25 years ago and based out of their head office in Surrey, this £120 million turnover business specialises in Concrete Frames, Groundworks and Basement Construction. With satellite offices in the South West, they have a strong coverage of projects with package values ranging from £5 million up to £50 million each (currently), covering the residential, commercial, leisure and education sectors. We have been preferred suppliers to this company for well over 10 years and maintain a strong relationship with all the directors of the business.
What sets this business apart is their focus on safety and rewarding their staff;
The MD takes an active role in the safety department making sure it is at the forefront of everything they do, and no not just to please clients but most importantly to make sure every person goes home safely at the end of every day. He is proud to stand by their safety record and the constant measures they take to maintain and improve this department.
In addition to safety, the focus on rewarding their staff is demonstrated in the constant career development that is offered and the targeted bonus structures that are in place for all the management team. For instance, the project management bonus is several thousand pound and is paid twice a year. This is measured on a quarterly basis based on certain key performance indicators such as safety, programme deadlines and commercial statistics. This gives each PM a real gauge of what they have to do to earn each bonus and it is worth pointing out, every PM is hitting above 80% of their bonus. This is a simple example of how targeted clear reward structures benefit the individual but also the company as a whole.
About the Rewards:
This business offers above average packages to ensure their staff are happy with their income and beyond this, to ensure they see this as a long term move when joining the company. Stability of employment and maintaining a low staff turnover is important in line with everything this business stands for.
For this position we have been given a rough bracket of £80,000 to £100,000 per annum as the salary which will also include a car allowance, standard benefits and the structured bonus scheme.
For individuals looking for a self-employed payment method, we can also offer rates in the region of £350 to £450 per day plus the bonus scheme (and possibly holiday pay).
About the Requirements:
Suitable individuals need to be degree qualified in civil engineering or construction management and will be able to show a strong history from a site engineer through to management over the last 5-10+ years.
It is crucial that professionals can show a strong amount of concrete frame and groundwork construction background having worked for rival concrete frame and groundwork subcontractors in the UK.
Regarding software, our client uses the usual Microsoft programmes, standard email functions and Asta Power Project for planning / programming works. Project Managers will be required to use all these tools.
How to Apply:
I am more than happy to discuss this opportunity with people over the phone or when the time is right, face to face in a fully confidential manner. This is an incestuous sector and I fully understand the importance of keeping things discrete.
Alternatively, it would be ideal to see a copy of your CV to understand your previous experience and employment. In line with GDPR, nothing will be done with your CV / details until we have discussed the role in detail anyway, but having gained an understanding of your formal past, this may help when we come to talk and discuss the option.

This role will also be client facing as you will be expected to liaise with clients on each project to represent the company, making sure client’s specifications are being met and they are happy from the preconstruction phase all the way through to delivery.
The locations of projects this role will oversee will mainly be based inside London, but depending on where the successful applicant is based (i.e. where you live), there may also be the possibility of some projects in the surrounding home counties, so the successful individual will need to manage their time working around this area across a maximum of 5 jobs at any one time.
This exciting opportunity is to head-up the sub & superstructure side of the business so individuals need to be very experienced in this aspect as our client is only looking to consider applicants from a civil engineering background so that a strong technical understanding is there when interacting with direct staff and client contacts.
About the Benefits and Rewards
The basic salary offered for this position is £90,000 - £130,000 per annum depending on the level of exposure in this sector, especially experience with superstructure engineering. To add to this, a strong bonus scheme and benefits package will also be included for the successful individual. These package details will be discussed at interview / offer stage.
About the Requirements
To be considered for this position, candidates need to have worked in a Contracts Management or Senior Project Management position, whilst working for a rival reinforced concrete frame and groundwork subcontractor. This is a must!

Contracts Manager
RC Frame & Groundworks Subcontractor
London Projects
£90,000 - £130,000 + Package
About the Company
Established over 25 years ago, this £120 million turnover business specialises in Concrete Frames, Groundworks and Basement Construction. With satellite offices in the South West and the Midlands they have a strong coverage of projects with package values ranging from £5 million up to £35 million each (currently), covering the residential, commercial, leisure and education sectors. We have been preferred suppliers to this company for over 10 years and maintain a strong relationship with all the directors of the business.
The MD takes an active role in the safety department making sure it is at the forefront of everything they do, not only to please clients but most importantly to make sure every person goes home safely at the end of every day. He is proud to stand by their safety record and the constant measures they take to maintain and improve this department.
In addition to safety, the focus on rewarding their staff is demonstrated in the constant career development that is offered and the targeted bonus structures that are in place for all the management and commercial teams. For instance, the project management bonus is several thousand pound and is paid twice a year. This is measured on a quarterly basis based on certain key performance indicators such as safety, programme deadlines and commercial statistics. This gives each PM a real gauge of what they have to do to earn each bonus and it is worth pointing out, every PM is hitting above 85% of their bonus which in turn equates to the contracts manager overseeing these projects receiving their bonus as well. This is a simple example of how targeted clear reward structures benefit the individual but also the company as a whole.

* Lambeth - £5m RC frame & groundwork package
* Watford - £10m RC frame & groundwork package

Salary / Rate on Offer (depending on experience):
£80,000 to £110,000 + Benefits (PAYE) - OR - £300 to £450 per day (self-employed)
About the Opportunities:
We have been asked to find specialist concrete frame and groundwork Project Managers capable of delivering packages ranging in value from £5 million up to £30 million each (anywhere in between). The initial sites are all listed above.
Individuals will need to have a strong understanding of everything from piling, groundworks, basement construction, and concrete frame construction while working on a mixture of residential and mixed-use schemes.
Usual duties will apply from overall management of the site team, technical management of the programme and works, through to management of the client and surrounding aspects (i.e. health & safety, temporary works, and client meetings).
About the Employer:
This business is one of my top clients. Having worked with them for the past 10+ years I have seen them develop in both size and capability over this time. They now currently turnover above £140 million per annum, building concrete frame and groundwork packages ranging in value up to £30 million each for a variety of residential contractors and developers throughout London and the surrounding Home Counties. They have a very modern edge to the business while maintaining traditional roots and are still privately owned by the original MD (who is a true gent).
On a personal note, I believe this company is one of the best not only for the projects they help complete but also because of the environment they create for the people who work there. They go that extra mile not only to retain their staff but to truly keep them happy. Small things have been added to the office like a gym that people have access to all day with an extra half an hour break given three times a week for anyone who wants to use it. They have a treatments room where massages and cosmetic treatments are available to everyone on Fridays free of charge, all you have to do is book in. And with plans in place for a rooftop garden and BBQ area, I’d want to work here myself if I had the relevant experience! They really are a great company to work for to gain great project experience, to develop capability in modern construction techniques, and to be part of the values they believe in.
About the Requirements:
Suitable construction professionals will ideally be degree qualified in civil engineering or construction management and will be able to show a strong history from a site engineer level through to management over the last 5-10+ years.
It is crucial that applicants can show a strong amount of concrete frame and groundwork construction background having worked for rival concrete frame and groundwork subcontractors in the UK. Individuals from a main contract, consultancy or overseas background cannot be considered, unfortunately.
Regarding software, our client uses the usual Microsoft programmes, standard email functions and Asta Power Project for planning/programming works. Project Managers will be required to use all these tools.
About the Salary / Rewards:
For the right people, our client is looking to offer a market-leading package including a strong salary or rate with added benefits. If PAYE you can expect a basic salary ranging from £80,000 to £110,000 depending on your experience, plus a car allowance, full benefits and a targeted project-related bonus. If self-employed, day rates range from £300 to £450 per day and you will also be given project-related bonuses.
This company really does pay their people well to make sure they are happy and look to stay long term and in addition to that, clear criteria are provided on how to hit the bonuses so that people are incentivised to perform well and earn the rewards in return.
How to Apply:
I am more than happy to discuss this opportunity with people over the phone or face to face in a fully confidential manner. This is an incestuous sector and I fully understand the importance of keeping things discrete.
Alternatively, it would be ideal to see a copy of your CV to understand your previous experience and employment. In line with GDPR, nothing will be done with your CV/details until we have discussed the role in detail anyway, but having gained an understanding of your formal past, this may help when we come to talk and discuss the option.

About Me, Your Consultant:
My name is Andrew Jackson and I am one of the founding directors of Cityscape Recruitment Ltd. I have over 15 years of experience in civil engineering & construction recruitment, during which time, I have specialised in the niche sectors of concrete frames, groundworks, basement construction, and demolition.
So, what does that mean for you? It means, I work with the vast majority of the groundwork & concrete frame businesses in the UK and I can help not only introduce you, but I can give you up to date information on each of them (the good parts and the less positive parts), helping you make an informed decision so you can take your career forward. I’ve been doing this for a fair while now and I’ve maintained a positive reputation doing what I do because I don’t tell people false truths, I tell them everything I know and then let them choose. My job is to get you the options, give you the information, and then let you decide what feels right for you

About the Opportunity
We have been asked to recruit a Contracts Manager for this company. The role will include the usual duties associated with managing a selection of live projects (usually between 3-5 schemes at different stages of completion), while reporting to the company directors (primarily the operations director and MD).
Day to day duties will include overseeing individual site teams, which will be headed up with project managers and site managers, making sure they are reporting any potential risks or issues, are staying on time / programme whilst also maintaining costs.
About Myself
I have a number of years’ experience recruiting solely within the specialist groundwork and concrete frame sector, it is my specialism. This means I have a strong amount of knowledge regarding how my clients operate and a focused approach on finding construction professionals the right organisation to join in order to enhance their career. These tight-knit bonds with my clients means I know the nuances of each individual business and how they will affect you when discussing the differing benefits to consider in order to draw well-informed comparisons.

Project Manager / Senior Project Manager
New Projects – West London + South East London – both £15m packages
£70,000 - £100,000 + Benefits OR £300 - £450 per day
About the Employer:
This business is one of my top clients. Having worked with them for the past 10+ years I have seen them develop in both size and capability over this time. They now currently turnover above £120 million per annum, building concrete frame and groundwork packages ranging in value up to £30 million each for a variety of residential contractors and developers throughout London and the surrounding Home Counties. They have a very modern edge to the business while maintaining traditional roots and are still privately owned by the original MD (who is a true gent).
On a personal note, I believe this company is one of the best not only for the projects they help complete but also because of the environment they create for the people who work there. They go that extra mile to not only to retain their staff but to truly keep them happy to be with the business. Small things have been added to the office like a gym that people have access to all day with extra half an hour breaks given three times a week for anyone who wants to use it. They have a treatments room where massages and cosmetic treatments are available to everyone on Fridays free of charge, all you have to do is book in. And with plans in place for a roof top garden and BBQ area, I’d want to work here myself if I had the relevant experience in this role! They really are a great company to work for to gain great project experience, to develop capability in modern construction techniques and to be part of the values they believe in.
About the Opportunity:
We have been asked to find specialist concrete frame and groundwork Project Manager capable of delivering packages ranging in value from £10 million up to £30 million each (anywhere in between). The initial sites are in West London and South East London.
Individuals will need to have a strong understanding of everything from piling, groundworks, basement construction and concrete frame construction, while working on a mixture of residential and mixed-use schemes.
Usual duties will apply from overall management of the site team, technical management of the programme and works, through to management of the client and surrounding aspects (i.e. health & safety, temporary works and client meetings).
