MEP Design Manager - London Salary: Up to 100,000 + excellent package A major UK building services business is looking to appoint an experienced MEP Design Manager to join its growing London operation. This is a senior opportunity with a well-established business, significant financial backing and an excellent reputation for delivering complex engineering solutions across some of the country's most demanding sectors. The London team is involved in a strong pipeline of high-profile, technically complex projects , with a particular focus on healthcare and other technically demanding environments . This is an opportunity to join at an exciting point in the growth of the London operation, with genuine scope to influence projects from the early design and pre-construction stages through to delivery. The Role As MEP Design Manager, you will take a leading role in the management and delivery of building services design across major projects, with significant exposure to complex healthcare schemes. You will be responsible for: Leading MEP design delivery from pre-construction through to completion. Managing design consultants, specialist subcontractors and internal technical teams. Providing technical leadership across mechanical, electrical and public health services. Reviewing and challenging designs to ensure they are technically robust, commercially viable and buildable. Managing design development, coordination and technical risk. Working closely with project, commercial and construction teams to ensure a smooth transition from design into delivery. Managing design programmes, deliverables and key project interfaces. Providing technical input into procurement and value engineering. Building strong relationships with clients, consultants and project stakeholders. Identifying opportunities to improve buildability, efficiency, energy performance and overall project delivery. Working within live and operational environments where maintaining critical services is essential. About You We're looking for an established MEP Design Manager / Senior Design Manager with a strong background in complex building services projects. Healthcare experience is highly desirable, ideally gained on major hospital or clinical projects. Candidates who understand the additional technical, logistical and stakeholder challenges associated with delivering MEP services within live healthcare environments will be particularly well suited. You'll ideally have: Significant experience managing MEP design on major construction projects. Proven experience working on healthcare / hospital projects. A strong understanding of mechanical and electrical building services. Experience managing complex MEP design from pre-construction through to delivery. Experience managing external consultants and multidisciplinary design teams. Strong technical and commercial awareness. Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills. The ability to challenge design, identify risk and provide practical solutions. Experience working within live, occupied or operational environments. Experience with complex projects across healthcare, life sciences, commercial, infrastructure, defence or other technically demanding sectors. Chartered status or a relevant degree/HNC/HND would be advantageous, although strong industry experience will be considered. Why Join?
