Project Director Candidate required: Project Director Job Type: Permanent Start date: ASAP Industry: Construction Professionals South Location: London The role & about the client: ITS (Construction Professionals South) are recruiting on behalf of a leading Tier 1 main contractor that specialises in delivering technically complex projects across the Data Centre, Mission Critical, Defence and Infrastructure sectors. Due to continued growth and a strong pipeline of secured work, they are looking to appoint an experienced Project Director to lead the successful delivery of a major new-build data centre project in West London. This is an outstanding opportunity for an experienced construction leader to take full responsibility for a flagship project, overseeing every aspect of delivery from programme and commercial performance through to client relationships, quality and operational excellence. You'll be joining a business renowned for delivering complex projects to the highest standards whilst investing heavily in its people and long-term career development. Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Lead the overall delivery of a major construction project from mobilisation through to completion. Manage multidisciplinary project teams, ensuring programme, quality, commercial and safety objectives are achieved. Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, consultants, subcontractors and key stakeholders. Drive project performance, ensuring works are delivered safely, on time and within budget. Oversee design, procurement and construction activities throughout the project lifecycle. Ensure effective planning, sequencing and coordination of all site operations. Monitor commercial performance alongside the commercial team, identifying risks and opportunities. Lead project meetings and provide regular progress reporting to senior management. Promote best practice across health & safety, quality assurance and operational delivery. Mentor and develop project teams, creating a collaborative and high-performing culture. Ensure all project documentation, reporting and governance requirements are maintained throughout delivery. The ideal candidate will have/be: Proven experience as a Project Director or Senior Project Manager delivering large-scale construction projects. Tier 1 Main Contractor experience on projects valued in excess of £50 million. Strong understanding of Design & Build project delivery. Excellent knowledge of MEP coordination within technically complex buildings. Good understanding of NEC and JCT forms of contract. Commercially aware with experience working closely alongside Quantity Surveying teams. Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage large multidisciplinary teams. Excellent communication, stakeholder management and client-facing abilities. Degree qualified in Construction Management, Engineering or a related discipline (or equivalent experience).
