Astute's Nuclear Team is partnering with a great structural engineering consultancy to recruit a Chartered Senior Structural Engineer for its Chorley site. This Chartered Senior Structural Engineer role comes with a salary of up to 55,000 with a 5% matched pension alongside other great benefits If you're a Chartered Structural Engineer and are looking to work for a growing consultancy that's closely involved in the likes of the Nuclear and Defence sectors, then submit your CV to apply today. Responsibilities and duties of the Chartered Senior Structural Engineer role Within the role you will: Perform structural engineering work, including design, site work, and report writing Deliver conforming to relevant Codes of Practice, Design Guides, and the Building Safety Act 2022 Produce detailed structural calculations, sketches, drawings, and specifications. Prepare technical reports and project documentation, specifications and risk assessments. Carry out site visits to ensure construction aligns with design specifications. Train and develop junior staff within the company in your areas of expertise Support the commercial aspects of projects, including cost estimates and budgeting. Professional qualifications We are looking for someone with the following: Minimum three years' experience in structural design. Proficiency in AutoCAD and 3D design software. Strong understanding of Eurocode design for steel, reinforced concrete, and masonry. Experience in report writing and preparing structural calculations. Commercial awareness of project costs, budgets, and quotations. Chartership Status with CEng, ICE or IStructE Personal skills The Chartered Senior Structural Engineer role would suit someone who is: Keen to get involved in innovative defence and nuclear projects Eager to learn and develop in a senior role Looking to develop and hone leadership skills in a consultancy environment Confident in a team environment A keen problem-solver Salary and benefits of the Chartered Senior Structural Engineer role Competitive salary based on experience. Company pension scheme. Payment of professional fees (e.g., ICE/IStructE memberships). Death in service benefit. Increased holiday entitlement for long service.
