We are looking for a proactive Quantity Surveyor and Estimator to join our team, supporting both project delivery and our estimating function. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys a mix of site-based commercial work and contributing to project bids and tendering. Highly competent with Microsoft Excel and confident with O365. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Main Responsibilities: - Interpreting specification and measuring from Drawings/Models (AutoCad/Revit/Scaffold designs) Dealing with tender enquiries, including pricing, preparing and negotiating new contracts Attending pre-start meetings to negotiate and agree contractual terms Report writing – including job cost analysis, reporting on labour spend, productivity and direct cost against budgets Prepare worksheet data by entering rates and descriptions onto excel for entry into payment applications Prepare and submit accurate, detailed and timely applications for payment (excel spreadsheet), valuation of contract variations and compensations events Work closely with branch and site management teams Conducting site visits to value the work completed Attending monthly site meetings to agree accounts Assist the finance team in the collection of payments in accordance with sub-contract terms, including the resolution of any disputed charges Prepare, submit and agree final accounts Maintain and develop client relationships to secure further work opportunities – including client entertaining – may be in the evening Reviewing contracts with particular reference to onerous contract clauses PERSON SPECIFICATION Education / Qualifications / Training Essential * A BSc (or equivalent) in Quantity Surveying Desirable CSCS Card Site Supervisor Safety Training (SSSTS) qualification Knowledge & Experiepret specification and measurements from Drawings/Models (AutoCad/Revit/Scaffold designs) Desirable Good knowledge of the scaffolding industry, construction, building regulations and H&S Be comfortable handling client care/key client management Skills & Abilities Required Highly numerate Strong IT skills (particularly Excel, or other Cost Management Software) Excellent communication and negotiation skills Outstanding attention to detail Committed to providing a high-quality service to liaise with clients and suppliers Able to plan and organise work Able to work under your own initiative Ability to work under pressure to very tight deadlines Driving licence preferable Personal Qualities Excellent negotiation and interpersonal skills Thorough Analytical Determined Enthusiastic Adaptable Self-motivated and motivational Personable Professional Pro-active Team player Innovative / uses own initiative Reliable and punctual Friendly and approachable.
