The Job
To effectively and efficiently lead, manage and control the operative workforce across the Electrical testing contract
Managing a team of Operatives to ensure correct workflows are followed demonstrating efficiency and value for money delivery
Work closely with the Contract (Compliance) Manager as well as the client’s management team together with tenant representatives to take overall responsibility in ensuring the delivery of both operational and service improvement objectives
Manage and arrange orders for deliveries
Positively influence the results and performance of the business
Ensure service compliancy targets are met, alongside the Contracts (Compliance) Manager
Main Objectives
Challenge and action productivity, performance and instigate improvement
To work with both client and customers to support the team to ensure that clean information is available and entered accurately onto the database
Fully utilise IT & communication systems as well as MS Office to undertake tasks to the highest standards
Liaise with planners ensure that jobs are allocated effectively and efficiently
To communicate with the supply chain, trade suppliers, directly employed operatives and subcontractors, instructing works where necessary, providing challenge where appropriate
To present a professional manner to represent the business to the client and customers
To provide detailed reports on contractual work streams, data analysis and implementation of improvement plans
Ensure process compliance by the DLO
Manage the associated workforce within the contract to ensure quality and productivity are always at the highest possible levels and that the workforce are motivated, developed and carry out their roles as defined in their job descriptions
Manage, respond to, and analyse complaints, develop and implement improvements that will reduce volume and pattern of complaints and improve quality of service. Undertake investigations, collect and present evidence as required
Induct all operatives into the team ensuring adherence to Group policies and procedures
Ensure QHSE policies and procedures are implemented and monitored, working closely with and seeking guidance from the QHSE team as appropriate regarding ongoing policies and initiatives
To ensure risk assessments are completed and maintained
Carry out regular Toolbox talks for Health and Safety, Quality and process improvement
Ensure company vehicles are inspected regularly and are clean, maintained and road worthy
Maintain and update the operatives’ skill matrix, and provide information to up-skill workforce
Ensure HR policies and procedures are implemented and monitored, working closely with and seeking guidance from the HR team as appropriate regarding on-going policies and initiatives
Carry out annual appraisals to operational staff
Carry out HR investigations and disciplinaries where necessary in line with Group policies and procedures
Carry out back to work interviews following periods of absence from operatives
Be first contact for operatives when arranging annual leave and liaise with planners
To liaise with clients and their representatives to ensure their requirements are understood and all contract requirements met
To operate in a confidential and professional manner
To comply in all regards with the company’s objectives in relation to quality assurance, procedures and systems
To assist in the identification, development and implementation of innovative solutions for the business
Assist with the development of Construction Phase Health and Safety Plans, and to ensure that it is approved by the Principal Designer acting on behalf of our client
To ensure that all accidents/incidents are reported in line with our policies and where required to the HSE, and carry out accident/incident investigations in order to prevent re-occurrence of similar accidents
Ensure all operatives are abiding by the employee handbook and vehicle policy
Regularly travel to and participate in site, project team, customer forum and evening meetings, as required
Support with the organisation and management of the Out of Hours call rota and participate if required
Essential Qualifications and Knowledge:
A minimum of four GCSE’s grade A-C (or equivalent); must include Maths and English

Day-To-Day Work Planner - Social Housing/Property Services (Permanent)
We are looking for a day-to-day reactive work planner to join our clients family-feel team on a permanent contract!
This role is working within the reactive repairs/day-to-day contract and you will be carrying out the following duties to support the contracts operations:
Duties include:
Arranging the diaries of multi-trade operatives/electricians to carry out works in assigned locations via outlook, our clients in-house scheduling system and to their PDAs.
Responding to repairs requests within a set time frame and speaking with residents, landlords and clients to assist on diagnosing the repairs and the operative they require to be assigned to the role • Arranging approved subcontractors to attend works as and when required. • Call handling with residents, landlords, subcontractors, end clients and 3rd parties daily. • Email correspondence via outlook, data entry via CRM system. • Use of Microsoft Excel for data entry and logging costings/price work. • Invoicing support and pricing up works. SOR coding experience is advantageous. • Raising new jobs, prioritising work load against set time frames and the SLAs in place. • Closing down jobs that have been completed or arranging follow-on works that may be required. • Report running daily to update client as to the status of jobs each day and works to be carried over. • Assisting the Trades Supervisors/Contracts Managers in ordering materials and organising delivery to sites. • All administrative support in relation to booking in works and ensuring the smooth running of the contract.
This role is working within social housing and property services and you will ideally have worked within a similar sector with an understanding of trades such as plastering, carpentry, plumbing etc. Experience in scheduling of at least 3-4 years is advantageous.
This role is working within a fast paced environment and you will require to work to deadlines whilst ensuring the delivery of excellent customer service and high standards at all times.
The role will require someone to be well organised, great at time keeping, confident in call handling and ideally you will be GCSE qualified in maths/English.
This role is working Monday- Friday 8am-5pm daily and is on a permanent contract offering £22,000 - £25,000 PA with excellent company benefits and a change to progress within an award winning company!
