P+S Personnel are pleased to be working on behalf of our clients, who are currently seeking a Depot Operative / Labourer to join their team based in Basildon on a full-time, temporary basis.
This role will involve working in a high-volume warehouse facility that requires a hardworking and flexible person to work in a small team. The successful candidate will ensure that all products are ready to go out on time, completed and quality checked, including all relevant paperwork. This role will require physical endurance with the regular loading and unloading of vehicles and keeping careful track of all inventories to ensure the right product is either shipped or received. As such, good, clear oral communication skills are a pre-requisite for the successful candidate.
All applicants for this role must have basic reading and maths skills and also be competent with core IT skills to be able to use the relevant internal IT systems.
Main Duties:
* Taking deliveries: Checking and entering them on to the system and allocating items to a specific job number.
* Quality control: Checking correct sizes and good quality on all frames and glass.
* Stock control and management: Completing stock takes and monitoring supplies available and reordering as appropriate.
* Organising workflow: Checking in advance to ensure that the next few days work is on track and that stock is available.
* Compile customer packs: Check finance documents using the installer daily sheet.
* Health and Safety: Carrying out risk assessments as required and regular fire alarm checks.
* First Aid and Fire Marshal responsibilities (training will be provided if necessary).
* Responsible for the security of the site.
* Ordering skips and organising recyclable materials and their collection.
* Checking PPE and ordering replacements where necessary.
* Securing, processing and preparing documentation for the receipt of cash or cheques received from installers.
* Resolving queries related to installations as quickly as possible.
Skills & Experience:
* Good attention to detail, well organised and good at managing own time.
* Ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines and changing priorities.
* Possessing physical stamina.
* Displays a “can do” attitude.
* Basic IT skills/ ability to learn basic database input processes.
* Good oral communication skills.
* Valid Full UK manual driving license.
* Knowledge of window and door industry products and a working knowledge of frame and roof manufacturing and their relevant fitting processes. (Desirable)
* Experience of working in the construction industry. (Desirable)
* Minimum 12 months’ quality control experience in a warehouse environment. (Desirable)
* Experience of recycling processes and procedures. (Desirable)
* Health and safety knowledge/ training/ certification. (Desirable)

As a multi-skilled operative you will be responsible for dealing directly with clients to enable waste to enter the site, you will also be responsible for the accurate documentation of the site users using the computerised Weighbridge recording system.
What will you be doing?
* Efficient, accurate and courteous operation of Weighbridge and associated weighing duties as laid down in general instructions and/or as directed by management.
* To identify potential hazards relating to all aspects of the operation, including customers, reporting any discrepancies to the Line Manager.
* To operate mobile plant as required safely contain and transfer material from the storage bays, including pushing up, and loading hoppers and lorries.

* To carry out waste inspection checks as per company policy or as directed, reporting any non-conforming wastes or dealing with same as required.

* To deal with all non-conforming waste and waste deliveries, including those not carrying the required documentation, in accordance with legislative requirements /Company policy, redirecting such deliveries as appropriate.

* Experience of certified weighbridge operation including good numeracy, keyboard skills and systems understanding.
* Able to deal effectively, efficiently and courteously with all site users.

Our client is currently looking for a number of multi skilled mobile plant drivers with experience of Shovels & 360 grabs to work at its Edmonton’s Material Recycling Facility.
Main Responsibilities
• Stockpiling material.
• Loading vehicles.
• Loading static Plant
Experience/ Qualifications
• A minimum of one years’ experience in operating mobile plant equipment
• Waste industry experience
Package:
• 20 days holiday plus bank holidays
• Pension
• Company pension
Weekly Hours: Mon-Fri 7am-5pm 45 hours a week Minimum
*After successful probation period hourly rate will increase to £11.32 per hour*

JOB PURPOSE:
To undertake works in connection with the issuing of store’s material and the maintenance of stock, to include purchase orders and receiving goods.
To carry out deliveries and collection of materials to and from Project sites
MAIN DUTIES:
Stores:-
Creation of purchase orders and recording goods inwards / outwards using company bespoke software.
Ensure checks to verify stock levels for re-ordering are accurate and appropriate.
To take delivery of goods delivered into stores, with the use of forkliftswhere required.
Ensure that goods are checked off in an accurate and timely manner and check for damages and quantity.
Update computer system to enable accurate stock levels.
Put materials away in stores after deliveries in a order.
To get materials out ready for collection by ISO tradesman and for the issuing to jobs, using the IT equipment provided.
Assist with stock checks when required.
Keep stores clean and tidy.
Keep log of scrap metal returns from properties via ISO tradesman
Delivering of materials to Project sites.

Driving:-
To make deliveries to and collections from various locations within the ISO geographical area and further afield where necessary to external customers and suppliers.
To ensure the safe loading and unloading of materials onto vehicles and assisting colleagues in this task where necessary.
All materials must be secure on the vehicles to enable safe transportation and to avoid any loss or damage.
Yard:-
Keep Yard & Stores area clean and tidy to include perimeter checks as necessary.
Manage the skips on site, ensuring that materials are correctly disposed of in the appropriate skips to maximise recycling possibilities. Notify Skip Company when skips require emptying.
Other Tasks:-
To unlock / lock up the yard and stores as required.
To be available from 6.30am on a rota basis.
To work later hours when circumstances dictate.
To promote equal opportunities and diversity in service delivery.

To foster constructive and collaborative working relationships with partner organisations.
PERSON SPECIFICATION:-
KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE
Experience of working in a similar role, involving work in stores, driving and yard responsibilities for a minimum of two years, or equivalent experience.
A knowledge of good practice relating to Health and Safety Regulations and Road Traffic Regulations.
Good knowledge of the Highway Code.
Basic understanding to notice faults and damage to vehicle.
Knowledge of Waste Recycling
SKILLS – Essential
A good knowledge and recognition of plumbing and electrical parts is essential.
A full driving licence.
Computer literate and knowledge of stock systems
Good listener and team player.
Methodical and organised and able to work on own initiative.
A Forklift licence (essential)
ATTITUDE:-
The ability to provide an effective courteous service.
A flexible approach to working arrangements.
Team player.
Decision Maker.
SPECIAL CIRCUMSTANCES:-
Out of hours working may be required to cover the needs of the business in certain
