Façade Designer Location: Kent Salary: £40,000 £55,000 DOE Employment Type: Full-time, Permanent The Opportunity We are working with a well-established specialist façade contractor that delivers high-quality façade, cladding and building envelope solutions across a range of major UK projects. Due to continued growth, they are looking to appoint an experienced Façade Designer to join their design team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to take ownership of façade design packages and work closely with clients, architects, engineers and project teams. The Role As a Façade Designer, you will be responsible for developing detailed façade designs from concept through to construction, ensuring technical accuracy, buildability and compliance throughout the process. Key responsibilities include: Producing detailed façade and cladding designs, drawings and technical information. Developing designs across systems including rainscreen cladding, curtain walling, glazing and associated façade elements. Working closely with architects, engineers, contractors and suppliers to develop practical design solutions. Reviewing architectural and structural drawings and identifying design issues or clashes. Producing detailed fabrication and construction drawings. Supporting the design process through RIBA and project delivery stages. Ensuring designs comply with relevant British Standards, Building Regulations and project specifications. Attending design meetings and contributing to technical discussions. Liaising with internal project and commercial teams to ensure designs are delivered within programme and budget. Coordinating design information with subcontractors, manufacturers and other project stakeholders. About You The ideal candidate will have previous experience working within façade design, cladding, curtain walling or the wider building envelope sector. You should have: Previous experience as a Façade Designer, Façade Design Technician or similar. Strong knowledge of façade and cladding systems. Experience producing detailed technical drawings. Strong AutoCAD skills; Revit experience would be advantageous. Good understanding of construction methods, materials and technical detailing. Ability to interpret architectural and structural drawings. Strong communication and coordination skills. A proactive approach with excellent attention to detail.
