Produce material and labour take offs. Obtain and analyse subcontractor and supplier quotations. Carry out site measures and prepare valuations. Prepare applications for payment and interim valuations. Price and agree variations. Place subcontractor orders and manage accounts. Monitor project costs, progress and overall commercial performance. Identify commercial risks and opportunities. Support contract administration and final accounts. Build effective relationships with clients, consultants and subcontractors. What is required from you: Previous construction estimating and/or quantity surveying experience. Experience producing valuations and applications for payment. Good understanding of variations, construction costs and cost management. Ability to undertake site measures. Strong commercial awareness with good communication and organisational skills. Experience within civil engineering, structural refurbishment, repair or specialist construction would be advantageous. Petrochemical or renewable industry experience would be beneficial. HNC/HND or degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction or a related discipline would be advantageous. Experience using estimating or commercial software and Excel would be beneficial. Working towards a professional qualification or an interest in further development would be welcomed.
